COVID-19 Surge: Dr B R Ambedkar University suspends online classes until April 30
Meanwhile, other universities in Delhi such as Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI), Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), Delhi University (DU) and more have also closed down their campus and postponed the semester exams until further notice.
Ambedkar University Delhi (AUD) closed amid the increasing COVID-19 cases. Considering the ongoing pandemic situation and unprecedented surge in the novel coronavirus cases, Dr B R Ambedkar University in Delhi on April 24 announced that all online classes stands suspended until April 30. The official circular released by AUD states, "In present unprecedented situation with surge of COVID cases in Delhi, the online teaching classes at Dr B R Ambedkar University Delhi are suspended with immediate effect till April 30, 2021."
Meanwhile, other universities in Delhi such as Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI), Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), Delhi University (DU) and more have also closed down their campus and postponed the semester exams until further notice. The decision regarding the same will be taken considering the ongoing pandemic situation.
The national capital logged a record 306 COVID-19 deaths and 26,169 cases with a positivity rate of 36.24 per cent, the highest since the pandemic began a year ago, on April 23 even as the city hospitals grappled with depleting oxygen supply for the third consecutive day. The city has reported over 1,750 deaths due to the deadly virus in the last 10 days.
Meanwhile, DU announced the official dates for the final semester exam schedule for all Under Graduate (UG) and Post Graduate (PG) programs as well as the School of Open Learning (SOL) and Non-Collegiate Women Education Board (NCWEB). According to the official statement, the exams will be conducted from May 15. DU will be conducting the examinations in three sessions on Sundays in Open Book Examinations (OBE) mode. By the end of the month, the final date sheet for the DU examinations 2021 will be notified. The notification released by DU reads, “All Ex-Students of Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) (Admission in 2015 to 2018) and Erstwhile FYUP (B. Tech) and Ex-Students of Annual Scheme registered with SOL and NCWEB as per specified Span period shall also appear as per date sheet applicable for each said case."
