DU to establish two new colleges including research center for 'Agricultural Studies'
According to the official statement, both the new entity is introduced by Delhi University will be e belt by the year 2023.
Delhi University is all set to introduce two new colleges for the department of agriculture Horticulture and forestry. According to the information released by the University, the new co-educational college will be based in Roshan Pura and near Shabad Dairy Najafgarh. The establishment of these new entities will help the students and rural sectors of Delhi and Haryana and will help save time. The new center of Shahbad Dairy will also host PhD, postdoctoral fellows, and students at the UG level. Talking about the new two infrastructures, acting vice-chancellor of Delhi University PC Joshi said, " In Roshan Pura, we will have a functional college in 2-3 years Where Art and Commerce subjects at the user level will initially be taught followed by science and it will require the setting up of Labs. Meanwhile, at Shahbad Dairy a plant-based Research Centre will be set up with the person of courses in agriculture Horticulture and Forestry will be encouraged."
He further adds, " value research in plant Genetics is already being conducted at DU and department of genetics plant Molecular Biology department and department of Botany there are no courses at the moment in agriculture Horticulture and Forestry the research Study Centre will develop new courses at the user level in these fields as the potential for growth in this area both and Academia and industry is on the rise."
As per, Suman Kandu director of South Campus, Delhi University, " sofa department of genetics department of Botany and Plant Molecular Biology department in DU of a research and Masters program with the Limited student's intake but the new Research Centre will impart user-level training to the students to meet the demand of higher crop yield due to rising population. The need to develop draught flood and insect resistant plants for research is of Paramount importance with will also be addressed by the center.
DU received the Roshan Pura 10 acres Plot in the year 1989 in 2019 the union education ministry announced that Delhi University will build a college on the same land by 2023. Now the Delhi University has decided to start a facility center for the mint of agriculture Horticulture and forestry because of their higher demand. According to the official statement, both the new entity is introduced by Delhi University will be e belt by the year 2023.
