IGNOU launches certificate course in environmental, occupational hazards at SWAYAM
Candidates interested in IGNOU Admissions 2021 must note that it is a certificate-level course in the biological science and bioengineering category.
IGNOU Course & Programmes 2021: The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) introduced a certificate course in environmental, occupational hazards. According to the official reports, the course will be available via the SWAYAM platform. The 12-week course will commence on February 15. Candidates interested in IGNOU Admissions 2021 must note that it is a certificate-level course in the biological science and bioengineering category. Knowledge and information regarding natural hazards and disasters and ways to cope with them will be imparted to the students under the course launched by IGNOU.
Topics such as geological hazards, weather-related hazards or coastal hazards. The course also details environmental hazards covering aspects of physical, chemical and biological hazards will also be covered under this course. Explosives, flammable, radiation, heat and cold stern vibration, noise hazards will be explained under physical hazards. Discussion on Occupational Hazards will also take place under the course. It deals with hazards posed by specific occupations such as mining and construction, agriculture and allied sectors, hospital, and health centres, and corporate sectors. The official statement released by IGNOU further states, “Finally, the management of the hazards and the mitigation of the same has been explained.”
Currently, the Open University is offering around 105 courses through the SWAYAM portal. Meanwhile, IGNOU has also launched a series of online courses. A new certificate course in Mobile Application Development (CMAD) through open and distance mode is also introduced by IGNOU recently. The programme is for six months’ duration and students who have cleared class 12 can also apply for the course.
