IIT Roorkee Placements 2020: 272 Job offers made, highest package until now is Rs 80 Lakh
Three students of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee bagged job offers from the international organisation.
IIT Roorkee Placements 2020: Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee kickstarted its placement drive on December 1, 2020. According to the official data recieved from the technology institute, IIT Roorkee students bagged 272 offers on the first day of the recruitment drive itself. Three students of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT)-Roorkee bagged job offers from the international organisation. Amazon, Jaguar Land Rover, JPMorgan Chase & Co, Goldman Sachs and Microsoft are among a host of companies that recruited a total of 272 students on the first day of the IIT Roorkee placement session.
Soon after the commencement of the IIT Roorkee placement drive, out of 272 job offers, 153 were made during the pre-placement session as compared to last year where PPOs were 139. Last year, i.e. in the academic session 2019-2020, Rs 60 Lakh was the highest domestic package offered. However, despite the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic situation and the economic slowdown in the country, there has been a significant increase this year. According to the official reports, the highest package until now is Rs 80 Lakh.
Meanwhile, IIT Madras also received an overwhelming response during its first session of the placement drive. According to the official data released by the institute, approximately 22 companies made a total of 123 offers in the first session on December 1, 2020. As compared to previous years, offers atΒ IIT Madras are higher as well despite the COVID-19 impact. During the last academic year of 2019-20, 102 offers were made by 20 companies by the end of session 1.
