IIT Roorkee to hold 21st convocation tomorrow
The Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee (IIT Roorkee) will award a total of 1,804 degrees to students during its 21st annual convocation to be held virtually tomorrow (September 11, 2021).Β
The event will begin at 4 pm. It will be graced by the chief guest, Prof Pradeep K Khosla, Chancellor, University of California San Diego. BVR Mohan Reddy, Chairman, Board of Governors, IIT Roorkee, will preside over the function.Β Β
A total of 1,804 degrees will be awarded to students this year. There are 912 undergraduate, 685 postgraduate and 207 doctorate degree recipients.Β On the event, Prof AK Chaturvedi, Director, IIT Roorkee, said, βA convocation is a solemn occasion that brings a smile on the face of every graduating student and his/her family. We exhort the graduating students to dedicate themselves to the profession they choose and to the society. We are happy to award degrees to 1,804 students this year. I wish the graduating students all the best in their futureΒ endeavours.βΒ

Meanwhile,Β like every year, IIT Roorkee maintained its sixth position in theΒ National Institutional Ranking FrameworkΒ (NIRF) Rankings 2021. The institute has consistently been allotted 6th rank since 2016. IIT MadrasΒ MadrasΒ continues to remain the top among institutes across the country for the third consecutive year.Β
