IITs introduces online course on 'Machine Learning' for Students at Rs 500

Candidates interested in IIT machine learning programme must note that the course fee for students is Rs 500. However, others are required to pay Rs 2,000 in order to enrol for the programme.

Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), which are National Supercomputing Mission’s nodal centres for training in high-performance supercomputing and artificial intelligence, along with C-DAC are commencing an online course on introduction to machine learning. Candidates interested in machine learning must note that the course fee for students is Rs 500. However, others are required to pay Rs 2,000 in order to enrol for the programme. Along with C-DAC, the IITs that are jointly offering this course are IIT Goa, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Madras and IIT Palakkad. The machine learning programme offered by IITs is a 7-week programme that aims are rendering the basic knowledge of machine learning to learners.

IIT Machine Learning Course Admissions 2021 Important Dates

Interested students can register online at the official website of IIT Goa. The last date to submit online application is February 28, 2021. The course will begin on March 9 and conclude on April 22, 2021, by Dr Clint P George, Dr Satyanath Bhat, and Dr Arun Rajkumar from the organising IITs. While filling the application online, students must keep a scanned copy of their ID card ready. Also, a valid email ID is needed to register for the course.

IIT Machine Learning Course Details

The classes for the programme will be held online on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 5 to 6 pm followed by interaction and questions until 6:30 pm. Participants must have a basic knowledge of programmings such as python as well as a basic understanding of probability, calculus, linear algebra or matrices. After the completion of the online course, an online examination will be held on machine learning. Top performers will be given book prizes and certificates with grades, while the other participants will receive certificates of participation.
