Mumbai University Admissions 2022: Over 2.4 lakh applications received, check details

Mumbai University Admissions 2022: Mumbai University has received around 2.4 lakh applications for several undergraduate courses for the academic year 2022-23. However, this does not include students from the CBSE and ISC schools, as the results are still not announced. It is for the first time that the Mumbai University Admissions 2022 began without CBSE and ISC students getting their results. 

As per Mumbai University's schedule, the MU first merit list 2022 will be released on June 29. Some of the college principals have also raised concerns over the Mumbai University going ahead with the admission process without CBSE and ISC boards students. Meanwhile, the merit list will not be released for some of the autonomous colleges as they are holding entrance tests for their self-financed courses.

While speaking on the Mumbai University's admission process this year, St. Xavier's College Principal Rajendra Shinde told TOI that, "We are following the university's schedule for HSC students, but CBSE and ISC students can continue to apply for these courses even after June 25. We will set aside seats for students from other boards, but we are yet to finalise the percentage." For BMS, Mass Media and B Sc-IT, the college is holding an entrance test on July 2 and 3.

Jai Hind College principal Ashok Wadia said that "we are currently carrying out admissions for our in-house students and are yet to take a call on the open merit list for traditional courses. For self-financed courses, we will be holding an entrance test on June 30, and therefore, will not release our first merit list for these courses on June 29."
