Mumbai University Results Withheld for 3,014 Students; Check What Colleges Need to Do

Mumbai University Result 2026: University of Mumbai has directed affiliated, autonomous and recognised colleges to complete eligibility verification of students admitted to degree courses after passing Class 12 from boards other than Maharashtra State Board. University of Mumbai has informed Principals/Directors of Arts, Commerce and Science colleges affiliated with or operated by university, recognised colleges, sub-campuses and university departments about eligibility status of such students for academic year 2026-27.

As per university notice, students who passed Class 12 exam from a board other than Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education and got admission to degree programme under University of Mumbai in academic year 2024-25 continue to have eligibility statuses such as 'Admission Granted', 'Provisional' and 'Pending' in academic year 2026-27.

Mumbai University asks colleges to complete eligibility process

The university has advised respective colleges to submit documents of these students to Admission, Enrollment, Eligibility and Migration Certificate (AEEM) Department without delay. The colleges have been asked to ensure that the eligibility status of the concerned students is updated to 'Eligible' after submission and verification of the necessary documents.

The direction applies to students whose Class 12 qualification was obtained from a board other than Maharashtra State Board and whose eligibility verification with University of Mumbai is yet to be completed.

Responsibility of colleges if Results remain under RPV

Mumbai university has also issued a specific warning to colleges regarding students whose eligibility status has not been finalised. It stated that if the results of such students remain under 'RPV' because their eligibility status continues to be 'Admission Granted', 'Provisional Eligible' or 'Pending', the responsibility will rest solely with the respective college.

The communication has been issued to a wide range of officials and institutions associated with University of Mumbai. These include Principals/Directors of Arts, Commerce and Science colleges affiliated with or operated by the university, recognised colleges, the Biographer Padma Bhushan Dr. Dhananjay Keer Ratnagiri Sub-Campus, Dharmaveer Anand Dighe Mumbai University Sub-Campus, Thane, and the Principals/Directors of the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Kalyan and Sindhudurg Sub-Campus.
