PATNA University Summer Break 2021: Amid the ongoing pandemic situation and the increasing number of novel coronavirus cases, PATNA University (PU) decided to advance its summer break for the current academic calendar. Patna University (PU) made an announcement for advancing its summer vacation by a month with effect from Monday, i.e. April 3 following the chancellor’s directive. However, the University will continue to conduct online classes during this period. The guest faculties have received directions to hold online classes during the vacation if the courses of undergraduate or postgraduate students have not been completed as yet. According to PU registrar Manoj Kumar Mishra, students should be informed about the schedule of online classes to be held and the details of teachers engaging classes should also be furnished by the heads of institutions to the registrar.

The decision taken by the University also states that the PU office and all other wings would now reopen on June 1 after the vacation. The chancellor’s decision to advance the summer vacation in view of the alarming surge in Covid-19 cases also received accolades from All India Federation of University and College Teachers’ Organisations’ secretary Arun Kumar. He also urged the Union HRD ministry and the UGC to shut all the educational institutions, right from primary to university level, for a month in view of the surging cases of Covid-19 across the country.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Education asked all centrally funded institutions including IITs, NITs, IIITs, Central Universities, etc. to postpone all offline exams scheduled for May. It also stated that the Universities can go on with the online examination as per the schedule.
