IIIT-Delhi Launches PG Diploma Program in Interaction Design & UX to Train Learners in Design

IIIT-Delhi will award the Post Graduate Diploma. The first batch is expected to commence soon.

Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology Delhi (IIIT-Delhi) launches a one-year Post Graduate Program in Interaction Design & UX focusing on integrating design principles, user experience methodologies, emerging technologies, and more.

This 12-month course is designed to equip learners with comprehensive knowledge and hands-on skills in creating intuitive, user-centric digital experiences. The program is being offered in collaboration with TimesPro in an online Direct-to-Device (D2D) mode, with an optional three-day campus immersion at IIIT-Delhi.

During a conversation, Prof. Ranjan Bose, Director, IIIT-Delhi, stated, "The Post Graduate Program in Interaction Design and UX at IIIT-Delhi in partnership with TimesPro will provide learners with practical skills to craft easy-to-use, user-friendly experiences. The learners will be educated to answer challenging design problems through the application of user research, interaction design principles, and evaluation strategies to improve the overall user experience and make them industry-ready and innovation drivers."

The Program Directors, Dr. Pragma Kar and Dr. Richa Gupta, both Assistant Professors at the Department of Human-Centered Design in IIIT-Delhi, shared their opinion on the launch, commenting on relevance and potential impact of the program.

Speaking about the launch, Kar said, "Interaction Design and UX are key facets of Human-Computer Interaction that shape nearly every aspect of modern life. This program will integrate key principles of design, human factors, and forms of interactions with cutting-edge topics like AR/VR, Tangible Interfaces, Wearable Technology, and the role of Generative AI in design, among others. Its interdisciplinary approach, combining design thinking with technological innovation, will equip learners with industry-ready skills, and the program will further support them through career guidance in personal branding, business communication, and more."

Program design

The one-year course consists of six foundation modules and a capstone project covering an extensive, yet concentrated set of topics ranging from Design Foundations to Emerging Technologies. The program will provide more than 330 hours of learning with an optimum theory-to-practical ratio in the curriculum. TimesPro will provide the career support facilities to help participants successfully advance their professional journeys.
