AICTE Partners with OpenAI to Transform AI in Education

AICTE Partners with OpenAI to Transform AI in Education All India Council for Technical Education has entered into Memorandum of Understanding with OpenAI for innovation and collaboration in Artificial Intelligence in education sector. This partnership aims to empower students and faculty across AICTE affiliated institutions. MoU was signed by Prof Shyama Rath, Member Secretary, AICTE and Dan Cook Deputy General Counsel OpenAI India.

As part of this agreement OpenAI will provide 1,50,000 free licenses for six months following pilot rollout of 5,000 licenses to ensure seamless implementation. Additionally faculty members will get access to OpenAI Academy and specialised Train the Trainer programs equipping them to integrate AI more effectively into teaching and research and curriculum delivery. AICTE will play major role in identifying institutions and ensuring maximum utilisation through communication campaigns and engagement activities.

Both AICTE and OpenAI will together assess learning outcomes and develop case studies showcasing impact of AI in education. Prof. Sitharam also urged OpenAI to extend free license period beyond six months to maximise benefits for students and faculty. He further stressed on importance of prioritising institutions in Tier 2 and 3 cities, ensuring equitable access to technological advancements across country.
