With the KCET 2026 results declared on June 6, thousands of engineering aspirants will now shift their focus for the counselling process with the KCET choice filling starting from June 10, 2026. However, for those candidates who  couldn’t crack the coveted entrance exam, they still have a chance to get a seat in some of the top engineering colleges in Karnataka. So they are advised to not panic as options are always open with COMEDK.

WIth some candidates not being able to cross the state merit cut-offs, many students might have found themselves stranded, but they must know one thing, with a record of 3.3 lakh candidates competing for limited state-quota seats, experts have advised them not to panic. 

The COMEDK UGET 2026 results, which was declared on May 29, open an immediate alternative route to over 150 private engineering colleges across Karnataka, including premier institutes like RVCE, BMSCE, and MSRIT.

For students who performed poorly in both entrance exams, top-tier private colleges have opened direct institutional admissions under management quota. This route allows candidates to bypass merit-list thresholds using a valid entrance exam scorecard combined with their Class 12 board marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
