IIT Bombay UG Admissions 2026: Indian Institute of Technology Bombay has released important onboarding instructions for students admitted to its undergraduate programmes through JEE (Advanced) 2026, Preparatory 2025, INMO 2026 and UCEED 2026. The guidelines apply to students joining B.Tech., B.Tech. + M.Tech., B.Des, and BS. programmes 2026-27. The institute has asked all newly admitted students to carefully follow all steps before arriving on campus to ensure a smooth registration and hostel allotment process.

IIT Bombay will send a welcome email to all undergraduate new entrants on their registered email IDs by 10 pm on July 17, 2026. The email will include student's IIT Bombay roll number, IT services login credentials, hostel room details and other registration-related information.

Students Must Complete Online Formalities

Before reporting to IIT Bombay campus, students are required to activate their IIT Bombay IT account by accepting the institute's IT Access Policy through the official portal. After activating their account, they must log in to Academic Services Centre (ASC) portal to:

  • Complete personal information and required declarations

  • Pay Semester Mess Advance (SMA)

  • Download, print and carry pre-filled registration documents

The institute has made it mandatory to pay the Semester Mess Advance as soon as roll number is generated. The last date for SMA payment is July 29, 2026, after which a standard late fee will apply. Students eligible for free messing must first pay the SMA and apply for reimbursement after joining the institute.

Documents to Carry During IIT Bombay Registration

Students have been instructed to print pre-filled forms available on ASC portal, affixΒ 

passport-sized photographs, and bring them during registration. These include:

  • Student and Parent Declaration Form

  • Hostel Registration Form

  • Medical File Record

The medical file will be verified by IIT Bombay's medical officer and will be required during future visits to the institute's hospital.

IIT Bombay Orientation, Verification ScheduleΒ 

IIT Bombay orientation programme and course registration will begin on July 21, 2026. ID card generation, biometric verification, original document verification and medical record verification will be conducted between July 22 and 25, 2026. The detailed schedule will be shared with students via email.

Student Mentor Programme and Query Support

To help freshers settle into campus life, IIT Bombay has encouraged students to explore its Student Mentor Programme, which provides guidance on academics, campus culture and student life.

The institute has also advised students to use NewBee platform for updates and to resolve admission-related queries. Students can log in using their JEE (Advanced) roll number or UCEED registration number as username and their date of birth (DDMMYYYY format) as password.
