IIT Admissions 2020: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi recently launched a new undergraduate programme, BTech in engineering and computational mechanics. Interested candidates must know that students qualifying (Joint Entrance Examination) JEE Advanced 2020 will be eligible to join the course. According to the official reports, the new course will be offered by the Department of Applied Mechanics from the academic session 2020-21. “The graduates of this programme are likely to find the best technology jobs in core engineering and will also be very apt candidates for higher studies like Master’s and PhD in IIT Delhi as well as other leading national and international educational institutions,” said Sanjeev Sanghi, head, department of applied mechanics.

According to the official release issued by IIT Delhi, the students taking this course will be able to analyse complex interdisciplinary phenomena relevant to problems in industry and cutting edge research through experimentation, analysis and computation.

About IIT Delhi BTech in engineering and computational mechanics

The BTech in engineering and computational mechanics offered by IIT Delhi is aimed to expose students to recent trends in computational techniques and experiments and provide a strong grounding in the fundamentals of engineering mechanics along with the tools to address areas such as biomechanics, nanomechanics and constitutive modeling at multiple lengths.

Meanwhile, IIT Delhi developed a type of protective gear, i.e. 'COVLOCK' to facilitate the frontline workers in order to combat COVID-19. According to the official reports, low-cost COVLOCK received financial support from Clifford Chance Business Services.
