IIT Hyderabad PhD admissions 2020 begins; apply on or before November 11

IIT Hyderabad is now inviting applications for PhD in AI. Students who wish to pursue the course must note that they can apply for the same on or before November 11.

IIT Hyderabad PhD Admissions 2020: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Hyderabad is now inviting applications online for IIT PhD admission 2021. Along with the other courses being offered, IIT Hyderabad has also invited applications for PhD in Artificial Intelligence, that will begin from January 2021. The Department of Artificial Intelligence at the Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad currently has 22 faculty members.

Those candidates who are interested can apply on or before November 11, 2020. Candidates will be thereafter shortlisted on the basis of their academic background, after which they will have to appear for a written test and/or an interview.

Those who will be selected for the PhD in Artificial Intelligence will be given the opportunity to access excellent laboratory facilities at any time, the Institute said. The laboratories are equipped with state-of-the-art facilities including software and hardware including high-end GPU servers. All the laboratories are provided with internet connectivity. Online applications are currently being accepted for regular PhD, direct PhD and part-time PhD. The qualifications required to apply for the same are as follows:

Candidates who have completed their MTech or equivalent degree in computer science, electrical and communications engineering, electrical and electronics engineering, or related areas in artificial intelligence can apply for the PhD in the Department of AI offered at IIT Hyderabad. Candidates must have completed their master’s degree, or should at least be in the final year and be able to obtain their degrees by the time of admission into the PhD program. Candidates with MSc, MCA or equivalent postgraduate degree with an EMDS at IIT Hyderabad may apply for the regular PhD program.

IIT Hyderabad also gives direct PhD admission to candidates who have a BTech/BE, MCA, MSc or equivalent degree in any engineering discipline or Maths, along with a valid GATE score in CS, EC, EE, MA or ST. Candidates with BTech or MSc in any engineering discipline or Maths from any Centrally Funded Technological Institutes (CFTI), with CGPA 9 or above can apply without a valid GATE score.
For the part-time PhD in artificial intelligence, candidates employed with a relevant employer at the time of application and admission, along with the qualifications mentioned above may apply.
