On Admissions

Q:   How can I join IIT Hyderabad?

A:

To join IIT Hyderabad aspriring candidates need to clear JEE, GATE, CEED or UCEED. To be eligible for the BTech programme at IIT Hyderabad aspring candidates need to clear JEE Main followed by JEE Advanced and they also need to have 75% in their class 12 exam. The BTech programme is offered under 15 specialisations at IIT Hyderabad. Some of the specialisations include Artificial Intelligence, Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering.

Q:   Which branch is best in IIT Hyderabad?

A:

Based on the JOSAA 2022 closing ranks, Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) consistently has lower closing ranks compared to other branches, indicating higher competition for admission. It is a highly sought-after branch due to its demand in the job market and diverse career opportunities in areas such as Software Development, Artificial Intelligence, and Data Science. However, it's important to note that closing ranks can vary each year, and the popularity of a branch can fluctuate.

Q:   Can I join IIT Hyderabad without JEE?

A:

It's not possible to get admission to the BTech programme without JEE. The primary method for securing admission to IIT Hyderabad's BTech programme is by taking the Joint Entrance Examination, which is a national-level entrance exam for admission to the Indian Institutes of Technology. JEE is a mandatory requirement for most undergraduate engineering programmes at IITs, including IIT Hyderabad. Nevertheless, it is crucial to recognise that admission processes and criteria may evolve over time. To remain informed, it is recommended to regularly visit the official website of IIT Hyderabad or reach out to their admissions department directly. It's possible to get into IIT Hyderabad without JEE only if the aspiring candidate is looking to seek admission to the MTech programme. For admission to the MTech programme the candidates need to pass GATE exam and they need to have graduation with 60% marks.

Q:   Is it worth going to IIT Hyderabad?

A:

IIT Hyderabad is consistently ranked among the top 10 Engineering institutes in India by the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF), making it a highly sought-after institution for Science and Technology education in the country. The total tuition fee of the BTech and Mtech programme can be recovered in a short span of time considering the kind of package the students secure after the completion of the programme, this year the average package offered was INR 20.46 LPA and the highest package secured was INR 65.46 LPA, so considering the total tuition fee and the package secured this seems to be a good return on the investment.

IIT Hyderabad is well-known for placements.
Placements: In IIT, almost 100% of students got placed in our college. The highest salary package offered is 20 LPAs. The lowest salary package offered is 5 LPA. The top recruiting companies are Viola, Maruti Suzuki, Amazon, Airbus, and Being. Almost 100% of students got internships at companies like Google, Amazon, TCs, JP Morgan, Goldman Sachs, Tata Motors, etc.
Infrastructure: The college has a well-established, designed, and beautiful campus with the cleanest campus in the University of Delhi. The campus has well-maintained grounds, which are big, but the problem is that most of the time they keep it closed, which is not good for us since there is no space to sit on the campus if you are in a hurry. Lots of game facilities are available, such as table tennis, cricket, football, hockey, basketball, archery, yoga, etc.
Faculty: The course curriculum encompasses practical and theoretical subjects, ensuring a well-rounded education. Most of the teachers are from reputed colleges and Ph.D.-qualified. The teachers use a variety of methods to help students learn. The teachers are friendly and approachable. The quality of teaching is very good. The curriculum is fair and somewhat relevant.

Review of IIT Hyderabad - Indian Institute of Technology.
Placements: In our college, up to 40 percent of students get placements. The highest package till now is nearly 50 LPA. Top recruiting companies include Google, Microsoft, Zomato, IBM, Wipro, etc. Nearly 80 percent of students receive offers, and mostly they go to foreign companies like those in Japan, Microsoft, and Google.
Infrastructure: The facilities and infrastructure of our college are the most amazing and awesome things I can say. The classrooms or lecture halls and departmental buildings are constructed in a unique way that motivates us to attend classes. Wi-Fi-enabled AC classrooms are available, and we have sports facilities. The quality of mess food is also good.
Faculty: The teachers or faculty in our college are highly experienced and have graduated from various top universities abroad. They have the knowledge to teach the course in an easy-to-understand way for students. The course curriculum is tailored to the students' needs, preparing them to handle situations that occur in the industry. The semester exams are challenging but useful for testing the students' abilities.
Other: I chose this course because of the rank I obtained, and it is also useful to me. Yes, there are many events and fests conducted in college, along with extracurricular activities.

The faculty and placements are good in 2023
Placements: 90 percent of students are placed in the interviews in which 60 percentage are from on campus interviews and remaining from of campus even 2nd years get in google etc but most of them are unpaid. The top companies like Google ,Amazon ,Zomato etc came for recruitment
Infrastructure: Food quality in the mess is worst even no sufficient food ,The water is also becomes yellow color some times in hostels and we have to go to academic blocks for fresh water. The wifi signal of some rooms is poor , there are both single rooms and combined rooms in rainy season sometimes water leaks from walls in some rooms of hostel
Faculty: The semester exams are easy when we go through assignments and previous year papers. The mode and date of examination depends on the faculty present.Sometimes there will be suprise quizzes and mid sems which has 30 to 40 percent weightage.Sometimes there will be assignments more weighted than end sem exams

Review of IIT Hyderabad - Indian Institute of Technology.
Placements: In 2023, we had 666 students placed out of 781 registered students, which is 85 percent of students placed. Top recruiters for Engineering Physics are DRDO, Homi Bhabha National Institute, Hero MotoCorp, HP. The highest package of 2023 in IIT Hyderabad is 63.78 LPA. The average package was 20.07 LPA.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi access is available, we have all equipment for the Physics lab, and soon the Physics department building will be open. We have a library with a huge collection of journals and books. The hostel's Japanese infrastructure is very good; they provide free Wi-Fi, a table with a chair, and a cot with an almirah. Mess food is average. Canteen food is good at reasonable prices. We have an on-campus hospital with an emergency ambulance available 24/7. We have a dedicated sports complex recently inaugurated, which is outstanding.
Faculty: We have qualified and the best professors; their teaching quality is good. The course curriculum of IIT Hyderabad is relevant and makes you industry-ready. It's great to know that semester exams are not that difficult; this allows students to focus on learning new skills. The fact that most of the students pass indicates the healthy academic environment.
Other: I choose this course because of the curriculum and placements. Every week there will be an event. In the month of Feb-March, we have the annual fest Elan and Vision. 63.5 km away we have Rajiv Gandhi International Airport and 53 km away is Secunderabad Railway Station.

IITH review by freshmen in 2023.
Placements: In my branch, almost 90% of students are placed. I belong to the artificial intelligence branch, and the average of our passouts is around 30 LPA. The highest package is around 80 LPA. An internship is a completely individual interest to choose. I don't choose interns; they undergo research during intern times. Under the AI branch, students are getting appointed.
Infrastructure: IITH infrastructure is best. It is extremely beautiful; each building over here is very unique and fascinating. Compared to the remaining islands, which have the best infrastructure, the campus will be completed by 2030. Hostels are also pretty good and comfortable, with just a few common discomforts. Apart from that, hostels are superb. There is a sports complex where all sports can be played. The sports facilities are good. Coming to the mess and canteen, they are just above average.
Faculty: The course is pretty good and unique. It is different from remaining colleges; faculty are highly qualified and friendly, and most of them are still continuing their research; they allow us to also take part in their research. Exams are a bit easier except for a few professors, most of whom give papers in such a way that at least students get pass marks.
Other: I have chosen this because it is currently in demand and is growing fast. Events are also good. Most of the bigger festivals are celebrated on campus. Scholarships are also communicated to students very regularly. There is time for extracurricular activities.
