IIT Kanpur Admission Through Olympiads 2026: Registration Underway for BTech, BS Courses
IIT Kanpur has started admissions to BTech and BS programmes through Olympiad channel. Eligible candidates can apply till June 15 and admission test will be held on June 24, 2026.
IIT Kanpur BTech, BS Admission
Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur has invited applications for admission to its BTech and BS programmes through Olympiad for 2026-27 academic session. IIT Kanpur BTech, BS admission application portal will remain open until June 15, 2026, till 5 pm. Olympiad achievers can apply online and appear for IIT Kanpur BTech, BS admission Computer-Based Test.
As per schedule, CBT will be conducted at IIT Kanpur campus on June 24, 2026. IITK admission test will include questions from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Each subject will have 15 questions carrying four marks each. Duration of exam will be three hours. Further, IIT Kanpur will release list of shortlisted candidates on June 20, 2026.

Who Can Apply for IIT Kanpur Admission Through Olympiads?
Candidates willing to get admission through Olympiad must meet these conditions

They should be born on or after October 1, 2001. Five year relaxation in age limit is available for SC, ST and PwD candidates.

They must have appeared for Class 12 or equivalent exam for first time in either 2025 or 2026 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as compulsory subjects.

They must meet Olympiad related requirements specified by respective academic departments
Those who have previously accepted or joined any IIT programme through JoSAA are not eligible to apply through this channel.

Seat Confirmation Rules
Candidates who receive one seat through JoSAA 2026 and another through Olympiad channel must choose one of two options and withdraw from other by July 13, 2026, at 5 pm. Failure to do so will result in the Olympiad supernumerary seat not being confirmed.
