IIT Kharagpur and Santech Global have joined hands to establish Centre of Excellence focused on Semiconductor and Quantum Technologies

Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur and Santech Global signed Memorandum of Understanding to establish Centre of Excellence in Semiconductor and Quantum Technologies in Kolkata. This new centre will focus on research and development to strengthen technology in Indo-Pacific region. This partnership supports US and India Technology for Resilient and United Supply-chain Transformation aiming to boost innovation in semiconductors, quantum computing, and artificial intelligence. Through collaboration between academic researchers and industry leaders this initiative seeks to develop more secure supply chains. 

Centre of Excellence will play an important role in advancing strategic technologies that will help both nations. It highlights how international co-operations can lead to real-world progress and help ensure a safer, more stable Indo-Pacific region.

Consul General Giles-Diaz praised the collaboration, stating that initiatives like these reflect the strong and growing U.S.-India relationship. She emphasised the importance of building a resilient technology ecosystem through such academic and business partnerships.
