IIT Roorkee Refutes data breach claims in JEE Advanced 2026 Result

The Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee has refuted the claims being circulated in social media regarding data breach in JEE Advanced result 2026. IIT Roorkee has responded that there has been no data breach or privacy violation of any kind regarding the JEE Advanced 2026 aspirants.
As per the statement issued by IIT Roorkee, To help candidates having issues with their admit card data, some tech fixes were quickly done. This led to a small problem in a cloud storage part, which was slightly misconfigured. Thankfully, an ethical hacker named Mr. Rylen Anil spotted this issue. He let us know he had access to the database he wasn't supposed to see. The team fixed the problem right away and locked down the database again. Rylen Anil, an ethical hacker, found a database misconfiguration letting him access it. He reported this, and the company fixed it right away, restricting data access.
The impacted storage was read-only, so no one could edit or delete any data. Analyzing the cloud access logs showed that only less than 0.05% of the data was looked at; there were no bulk downloads. Plus, no sensitive info was taken. The incident didn't affect exam results, marks, ranks, or candidate categories at all.
Ministry of Education tweets, "There have been several misleading and factually incorrect reports regarding data breach and privacy violations with respect to students who took JEE (Advanced) examination. As per the clarification issued by IIT Roorkee, the Ministry reiterates that no sensitive information was compromised, and the examination outcomes, marks, and candidate information remain completely secure, intact, and safe.

Ministry of Education Clarifies No Data Breach
The Ministry of Education - Govt of India also released an official statement on this pssie. They say there've been some misleading and factually incorrect reports about a data breach and privacy violations concerning students who took the JEE (Advanced) exam. According to IIT Roorkee's clarification, the Ministry reiterates that no sensitive info was compromised. The exam results, marks, and candidate info are fully secure and safe.
