JEE Main 2020 results may be released tomorrow i.e. January 18. The official date for the announcement of JEE Main result 2020 is January 31. Last year, the NTA had released the JEE Main 2019 results within two days of collecting objections on the answer keys. Students are hence advised to keep a check on the official website i.e. jeemain.nta.nic.in.

As the results of JEE Main 2020 are awaited, here is a quick look at the number candidates would qualify for JEE Advanced 2020 from each category. It is to note here that in 2020, top 2.5 lakh qualified candidates JEE Main will be shortlisted for JEE Advanced this year. This would, in turn, be calculated after the JEE Main 2020 April examination result is announced.

Students must keep in mind that 2.5 lakh is a tentative number. It may vary. Moreover, the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi, the exam conducting authority, has not released the exact category-wise break up for the JEE Advanced 2020 examination. The tentative number of students expected to qualify under each category is given below.

After the announcement of the result, students must not get depressed in case of a bad score. They must keep in mind that they have the opportunity to appear for JEE Main April 2020 as well. NTA will only consider the better of the two scores and use it for calculating the JEE Main 2020 Rank. In January, NTA will only release the percentile scores of the students. The ranks would only be released along with April 2020 examination by April 30, 2020.
