According to unofficial sources, the placement rate recorded during IIT Delhi BTech placements 2023 was 90.01%.

IIT Delhi MSc fee structure is cumulative of various components, including tuition fees, hostel fees, student welfare fund, alumni fees, training and placement charges, etc. Candidates who get selected have to pay the required admission fees to confirm their candidature. IIT-Delhi MSc tuition fee range from INR 30,000 to INR 70,000. This fee amount is as per the official website/ sanctioning body. It is still subject to changes and hence, is indicative.

Admission to IIT Delhi BTech courses is subject to fulfiment of the eligibility requirements for JEE Main and JEE Advanced. The students who have passed Class 12 in Science stream with at least 75% aggregate (65% aggregate for SC/ST/PwD) are eligible to apply. Hence, a student scoring less than 60% is not eligible to pursue BTech at IIT Delhi. They can go for other colleges offering the course. As per the QS World University Rankings, IIT Delhi is the third best institute in India and 174th globally. In the NIRF rankings, it has been ranked at the second spot under the "Engineering" category. Candidates get good placement opportunities. The highest international and domestic package offered was INR 2 crore per annum and INR 1.25 crore per annum. In IIT Delhi placements, 50 students received package more than INR 1 crore per annum (domestic). Thus, it is great if a candidate gets admission at IIT Delhi.

At end of IIT Delhi Phase 1 placements 2024-25, a total of 1,200 offers were made and 1,150 students were placed. In addition, more than 50 international offers were made during IIT Delhi Phase 1 placements 2024-25. International offers came from more than 15 organisations across multiple global regions. The placement rate recorded during IIT Delhi placements 2023 and 2022 stood at 84.94% and 82%, respectively.

IIT Delhi offers a four-year full-time BTech course across multiple specialisations. During the IIT Delhi JEE Advanced cutoff 2025, the closing rank for the B.Tech in CSE course was 45 for the SC All India category students. Thus, a candidate securing a rank of up to 45 or below is only eligible for admission to the BTech in CSE course at IIT Delhi. 

IIT Delhi and IIT Bombay accept the UCEED exam for B.Des admission. However, IIT Delhi offers a B.Des course via its own campus, and IIT Bombay offers a full-time B.Des course via its center called Industrial Design Centre (IDC). In 2025, the last round of UCEED cutoff rank was 41 for B.Des admission at IIT Delhi. For IIT Bombay, the cutoff rank was 14. So, considering the ranks, IIT Bombay was the most competitive among the aspirants for B.Des admission as compared to that of IIT Delhi. To make an informed decision, candidates can also compare other parameters, such as tuition fees and median salary of both these colleges. 

The seat allotment procedure at IIT Delhi for BTech programmes is carried out through JoSAA counselling. Candidates who meet the JEE advanced cutoff become eligible for participation in the counselling. For the same, aspirants need to visit the official website of the counselling body to register. During counselling, the documents are verified and seats are allotted as per the cutoff and category of the candidate. Further, students can report at the institute and pay the admission fee for seat confirmation.  

IIT Delhi MTech admission is completely entrance-based. Candidates seeking admission to the IIT Delhi MTech course must appear for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE). However, BTech graduates from IITs with an overall CGPA of 8.00 out of 10 are exempted from GATE and are eligible for direct admissions. Apart from this, candidates are also requested to fulfil the minimum eligibility criteria to be eligible for IIT Delhi MTech admission.

The total course fee is a cumulative of multiple components such as tuition fee, medical fees, transport fees, etc. IIT Delhi PhD tuition fee for full-time course is INR 7,500 per semester. In addition, PhD (part-time/sponsored) programmes is INR 17,500. The hostel fee for PhD candidates is INR 13,250. Some other fee such as students distress fund scheme (each semester) of INR 400 and insurance scheme (yearly) fee of INR 500 may also be added in the fee.
