JEE Main 2021: Exam likely to be held in February and May
As per the latest news report, National Testing Agency (NTA) is likely to conduct JEE Main 2021 in February and May. JEE Main is conducted twice a year - January and April session. However, due to COVID-19, the exam schedule was postponed from April to September for the academic year 2020-21. The events related to JEE Main were also affected due to the pandemic.
However, the authority has said that for the academic year 2021, it would be difficult to conduct JEE Main 2021 first session in January month. But hopefully, the January session will be held at the end of February. The second session which is typically held in April might be postponed May depending upon the prevailing situations. Candidates must note that no official notification by NTA has been announced so far regarding JEE Main 2021. JEE Main 2021 registrations to start in December.
Earlier, NTA Director had stated that the JEE Main 2021 dates will be impacted by the reopening of schools and boards exam schedule. Therefore, it would be a challenging task for the authorities to conduct the exam where millions of aspirants participate every year.
In 2020, out of the total, 6.35 lakh candidates have qualified in the JEE Main 2020 exam for admission to NITs, IIITs and CFTIs whereas, in JEE Advanced 2020, a total of 43,204 candidates had qualified the entrance test for admission to IITs. JoSAA counselling ended on November 13.
