JEE Main 2021: How will class 12 board exam cancellation benefit JEE aspirants

Students can now focus on JEE Main 2021 or other entrance exams without bothering for class 12 board exams.

NEW DELHI | June 4, 2021: In a big relief to students, PM Narendra Modi announced cancellation of CBSE class 12 board exams on June 1 due to COVID-19. In line with the CBSE, many other boards like ICSE and state boards have also canceled their class 12 exams. The decision has brought relief to lakhs of students who would be appearing for the upcoming sessions of JEE Main 2021 .

Appearing for class 12 board exams and JEE Mains simultaneously amid the pandemic was a big reason to worry for students. The studies for board exams and JEE Main 2021 preparation have been hugely impacted due to closing of schools and coaching institutes.

How will JEE Aspirants Benefit from Cancellation?

As per the initial plan suggested by CBSE, class 12 board exams were slated to be conducted in-between the two sessions of JEE Mains 2021. Studying for board exams and JEE Main 2021 at the same time could have been resulted in a great loss to students both mentally and physically. As now students are free from appearing in board exams, they can wholeheartedly focus on JEE Main.

The announcement of new JEE Main exam dates will be made at least 15 days before the conduct of exam. Considering the current situation, it is unlikely that JEE Main will be conducted till June.

When is JEE Main 2021 April and May likely to be conducted?

The decision on new JEE Main 2021 date is likely to be announced soon. As per media reports, the govt is planning to meet for deciding the new dates for JEE Main 2021 April and May session. New dates will be decided considering the COVID situation and safety of students. As the COVID-19 cases are dropping, it is expected that JEE Main 2021 will be conducted in July and August.

JEE Main Preparation 2021 – Take the most out of time

It is a win-win situation for students. The postponement of JEE Main 2021 April and May provided additional time to students for the preparation of exam and now, cancellation of board exams has brought another relief. Students who are interested in taking admission in IITs, NITs, IITs or any other GFTIs, should utilize this time in a better manner to score well in JEE Main.
