JEE Main 2026 Result Statistics: 15,38,468 Lakh Unique Candidates Appeared Across Both Sessions
The JEE Main 2026 Session 2 results have been officially released today. Notably, this year's exam saw record-breaking participation, marking the highest number of candidates in the history of the JEE Main.
The National Testing Agency has officially declared the JEE Main 2026 Session 2 results on their website, jeemain.nta.nic.in, where students can now download their scorecards using their application number and password. This year’s exam was marked by unprecedented participation, achieving a record-breaking attendance rate. Of the 16,04,854 students who registered for the BE/BTech paper, a staggering 15,38,468 candidates appeared for the test, representing the highest level of candidate participation in the history of the exam.
NTA has also released a detailed press note that includes toppers of the JEE Mains 2026 session 2 exam. The press note also provides a statistical insight into the gender wise and category-wise number of candidates registering for the exam.
JEE Main 2026 Session 2 Result: Number of Candidates Registered vs Appeared
The JEE Main 2026 Session 2 set a historic milestone with the highest participation ever recorded for the Paper 1 examination.
Of the registered 16,04,854 candidates, a total of 15,38,468 students appeared for both sessions.
This massive pool of test-takers was diverse, led by 6,11,953 candidates from the OBC-NCL category, 5,38,239 in the General category, 1,80,086 from EWS, 1,56,038 from SC, and 52,152 from the ST community.

This year, the total number of languages in which the exam was held is 13. These languages include Assamese, Bengali, English, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu. The paper 1 exam was held across 9 shifts over 5 days on April 2, 4, 5, 6, and 8.
