KCET 2026 Starts Today for Physics and Chemistry; Check Dress Code and Guidelines

The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) will conduct the Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET) today for the main subjects Physics and Chemistry from 10:30 am. Approximately 3.3 lakh students are expected to appear across both the days (April 23 and 24) , at 745 exam centres. Candidates appearing in the KCET exam must report at the exam centre at least 45-60 minutes prior to the exam timings.ย
They must carry their admit card along with one valid photo ID proof such as their aadhar card, voter ID card, driving license etc. They are also advised to carry one passport size photograph similar to the one they used while filling the KCET application form; this might be required for verification purposes. Electronic gadgets, including mobile phones, smartwatches, Bluetooth devices, and calculators, are not allowed at the exam centre hence it is advised to candidates to not carry such items. The KCET exam is split into two shifts, each paper carrying 60 marks for a time duration of 1 hour and 20 minutes each paper.

Be seated by the first bell at 10:20 AM (morning shift) or 02:20 PM (afternoon shift) for OMR distribution and identity verification. No candidate will be allowed to enter the hall after the third bell (start of writing time).
KCET 2026 Dress Code

Wear light, comfortable, and simple clothing.ย

Wear half-sleeve shirts or T-shirts (without large prints or slogans) and simple trousers or salwar-kameez.

Wear slippers or thin-soled sandals.ย

Avoid flashy shoes or large boots, or thick-soled footwear.

Avoid jewellery (rings, earrings, necklaces).ย

Belts with large metal buckles, caps, and sunglasses are also not allowed inside the exam centre.

Avoid clothes with metal buttons, zippers, brooches, or heavy embroidery to trigger metal detectors.

Candidates wearing religious attire must report at least two hours early (by 8:30 AM or 12:30 PM) for separate security screening.
