NIT Calicut MTech Admissions 2026: New Courses Introduced in Data Analytics, Supply Chain
NIT Calicut has launched two new interdisciplinary MTech programmes and revamped its Mechanical Engineering courses for 2026-27 admission session.
NIT Calicut Admission 2026-27: National Institute of Technology Calicut has revamped its MTech programmes in Mechanical Engineering and introduced two new interdisciplinary courses for 2026-27 academic session. NIT Calicut has launched two new MTech programmes Logistics and Supply Chain Management, and Operations Research and Data Analytics. According to institute officials, Logistics and Supply Chain Management programme has been designed to help students develop skills in handling modern global supply chains.

Updated MTech programme in Mechanical Engineering will now offer several new specialisations, including

NIT Calicut Admissions Through GATE and Self-Sponsored Scheme
Admissions to NIT Calicut MTech programmes will be conducted through two modes.

Candidates with valid GATE marks can apply through centralised counselling process. Apart from this, NIT Calicut is also offering admissions under a self-sponsored scheme, where GATE qualification is not mandatory.

Candidates applying under the self-sponsored category can apply directly through institute’s admission portal. Selection will be based on a written test and/or interview conducted by department.
Focus on Emerging Technologies and Industry Exposure
This revised two-year full-time NIT Calicut MTech curriculum will include training in advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, robotics, automation, additive manufacturing, computational fluid dynamics, optimisation analytics, and semiconductor materials technology.
