Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has announced that all universities in the state should provide education from kindergarten level to postgraduation. He further informed that the fees for the poor children studying in these universities will be paid by the state government.

While addressing a two-day conference of vice-chancellors of the Universities, he said a new scheme would be introduced soon under which the state government will pay the fee for all those children who belong to families who have verified annual income less than INR 1.80 lakh. The conference was conducted by the Haryana State Higher Education Council on education policy, self-employment and management.

The Education Minister further added that under the new education policy, the MDU Rohtak, Kurukshetra University and Mahila Vishwavidyalaya, Khanpur, have started providing education from KG-level to PG under one roof. The rest of the Universities shall also work at a fast pace to give education in the same way so that every youth in the state gets access to higher education easily under one roof.

"The employment-oriented programmes should be formulated in universities and computer education should be made compulsory so that in the present era of technology, every youth is proficient in computers. The youth should be imparted employment-oriented education so that they get jobs after completing education," the Chief Minister said.

To impart quality education to the youth, the technical education and higher education departments will be merged. This will help to reduce the unnecessary burden on the government and the youth will also be able to get both technical and higher level education, he added.
