DU Admission 2021: 1,58,889 students register for Delhi University UG courses in a week

DU Cut-off 2021 is likely to be released between September 7 and 10. Candidates must note that the last date to submit the DU Registration form for nearly 70,000 UG seats is August 31. 

DU Admissions 2021: Delhi University's admission portal has received a total of 1,58,889 applications for undergraduate courses till 9 pm yesterday, as per the data released by DU. The DU Admission Portal 2021 for UG courses was launched on August 2. Candidates must note that the last date to submit the DU Registration form for nearly 70,000 UG seats is August 31. Soon after the launch of DU UG admission portal launch, the university said that it received over 8,000 registration and now after a week, the registrations figure has climbed above 1.5 lakh.

Delhi University also conducted its virtual 'open days' from August 4 to 7 to make aspirants familiar with the DU admission process 2021. During the session, officials answered the queries of students and asked them to be cautious while filling up the form since they won't be able to edit it at later stages.

The DU first cut-off 2021 is likely to be released between September 7 and 10. The Delhi University Cut-off is likely to be much higher this year with around 70,000 students scoring more than 95 per cent marks in CBSE Class 12 result 2021 as against the total tally of 38,686 previous years. The number of Class 12 students who have scored more than 90 per cent marks is 1.5 lakhs, which remains the same as last year.

On July 30, the CBSE 12th Result 2021 was announced. This year's CBSE Class 12 passing percentage stood at 99.37 per cent. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the university will not hold any sports trials or competitions for the sports and ECA category admissions. The students will be admitted on ECA and sports quota seats based on the certificates showcasing their performance in extracurricular activities or sports.

Around 1,01,014 students have registered for DU PG Admissions 2021 and for MPhil and PhD courses, 1,40,43 students have filled the applications.

The DU PG application form 2021 was released on July 26 and the last to fill the applications for PG programmes is on or before August 21. 

Meanwhile, Delhi University has also increased the number of ward quota seats. As per the Delhi University Admissions 2021 guidelines released by the DU Academic Council, 16 seats have been reserved in the ward quota in colleges with 400 or more seats in any course in a college.
