Jamia school teacher wins Fulbright Award, USA
Ayesha would be representing JMI and India at Lowell, Massachusetts, USA this month.
Ayesha Jameel, a PGT (English) at the Syed Abid Husan Sr. Secondary School, Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) has been selected to participate in the U.S. Department of Stateβs Fulbright Teaching Excellence and Achievement Program (Fulbright TEA).
Ayesha would be representing JMI and India at Lowell, Massachusetts, USA this month. Ayesha will be attending seminars and doing coursework that will be able to enhance her teaching-learning tools. She would be able to bring back new strategies to her students and fellow colleagues. These specialized seminars will focus on the 21st century teaching skills while also sharing their respective best practices in teaching.
Ayesha will also get a chance to observe and co-teach classes in the U.S school and would get the opportunity to take part in a variety of cultural and community activities.
The U.S Department of State initiates to promote girlsβ education around the world, of which Ayesha and her peers will be part of. The program has been designed to integrate a gender and education focus throughout the academic seminars and workshops.
The Fulbright Program is the worldβs largest and most diverse international educational exchange program where its alumni have become heads of state, judges, ambassadors, cabinet ministers, CEOs, university presidents, journalists, artists, scientists and teachers. They also include Nobel Laureates, Pulitzer Prize winners and so on.
