Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Indore, is all set to broadcast maths and science lectures for Classes six to eight. According to the media reports, the decision is taken by Madhya Pradesh's school education department considering the ongoing closure of the schools due to the COVID-19 pandemic situation. Madhya Pradesh allowed schools to start classes for Class 10 and Class 12 with COVID-19 protocols in place from December 18 onwards. However, a decision is yet to be taken for students of lower classes.

Students must note that the broadcast will be part of the National Invention Campaign which was launched by the state on December 26 to provide educational activities to students of Classes six to eight. Being in charge of broadcasting educational activities, IIT Indore will be broadcasting classes for science and maths subjects every Saturday between 4 to 5 pm. These classes will be broadcasted online through YouTube. Announcing the decision regarding the broadcast, the school education department, Madhya Pradesh, through its official social media account, said: “Under the national invention campaign, now IIT will broadcast educational activities in mathematics and science subjects from Classes six to eight. The program will be broadcast on YouTube by the Indian Institute of Technology, Indore.” The National Invention Campaign will continue broadcasting educational programmes until April 24, 2021. Earlier, IIT Indore introduced a course that conducts mathematics and science classes in the Sanskrit language. The announcement about the course was made by the Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank. It is a unique initiative by the institute which would help the New Education Policy 2020’s vision to be forwarded, the Education Minister tweeted.
