Nasscom Foundation Collaborates with IBM to Train 87,000 Youth For India’s Digital Future
Over 87,000 youth from underserved communities across India will be trained for market-relevant digital expertise, domain knowledge, and employability skills under the collaboration between Nasscom and IBM.
Nasscom Foundation and IBM have formed a collaboration to train over 87,000 youth from underserved communities across India. The aim of the collaboration is to equip students with market-relevant digital, domain, and employability skills. The collaboration further aims to bridge the gap between the digital divide and prepare young learners in the current tech-driven economy.
Under this collaboration, students will get IBM SkillsBuild, which is a free digital learning platform offering courses in emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, Cloud Computing, Data Analytics, and Professional Development.
Programme will also help students to develop competencies and find new career opportunities. It will also have interactive learning, mentorship, and guided experiences for technical advancement and professional confidence.
Jyoti Sharma, CEO of Nasscom Foundation, talks about how Nasscom participate in improving the digital economy. The CEO further said that by equipping young learners, the foundation is aiming to transform lives and strengthen India’s digital workforce.
The project will be available across India through a hybrid model. It will combine direct contact with universities and collaboration with several partners specialising in technologies. Through the initiative of IBM and Nasscom Foundation, people will be educated digitally, and a good contribution to India's vision for a digitally empowered society will be achieved.
