BITS Law School, Mumbai, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with USC Gould School of Law, University of Southern California. The collaboration between both institutions has been formed for student and faculty exchange. Further, the MoU will enable the BITS Law School to offer a dual degree LLM programme and joint research in the BITS Law School and the USC Gould School of Law.Â
The collaboration intends to provide innovative possibilities for students and teachers by utilising a globally benchmarked academic framework for academics. It includes opportunities for BITS Law School students to pursue Master of Laws (LL.M.) programs at USC Gould, as well as the possibility of developing novel dual degree programs such as a Bachelor of Laws-Juris Doctor (LL.B.-J.D.).
The partnership between the institutes allows for faculty and student exchanges, access to an internationally benchmarked curriculum, and exposure to various legal systems and perspectives. The MoU also involves collaborative research, co-teaching projects, and a vibrant Summer School at USC Gould in Los Angeles.
Following the MoU signing event, an interesting conversation between the founding dean of BITS Law School, Prof Ashish Bhardwaj and Dean of USC Gould School of Law, Prof Franita Tolson, took place.
