Law graduates from Jamia Millia Islamia have performed well in important exams for legal, judicial, and government jobs in India, including UPSC CSE and CLAT PG, with many of them being accepted into top universities around world for further studies.
Graduates of BA LLB (Hons.) program at Jamia Millia Islamia's Faculty of Law (JMI) have performed well in some of most popular national and international exams. For instance, Mohammad Haris Mir, a JMI graduate, achieved All India Rank (AIR) 345 in UPSC Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2023, and improved his All India Rank to AIR 314 in UPSC CSE 2024.
Arisha Nusrat, another graduate from Jamia Millia Islamia, passed Telangana Judicial Services Examination 2024 with flying colours. Meanwhile, Shrey Kumar Garg, a student of JMI, has been accepted into prestigious LL.M. program at University of Cambridge, which is ranked among top three law schools in world. Shrey secured a CGPA of 8.22/9 with his active participation in legal research, internships, and peer mentorship during his preparation period.
Vice Chancellor of JMI, Prof. Mazhar Asif, congratulated students, stating, “remarkable achievements of our law graduates are an outcome of their hard work and diligence as well as outstanding mentorship by JMI’s faculty members. We are pleased to see our graduates do exceedingly well in India and abroad and contribute to public service and field of legal profession.”
Sunidhi Sachdeva, a student of Jamia Millia Islamia, also earned All India Rank 1 in CLAT PG 2025. Her performance places her among country's most elite law students. Sudeep Krishna, another JMI law graduate, scored AIR 127 in UPSC CAPF (Central Armed Police Forces) Assistant Commandant Examination.

Candidates seeking admission to Jamia Millia Islamia for BA must have passed Class 12 or SSC with a minimum aggregate ranging from 40-50%. The passing percentage is different for different specialisations offered in the BA programme. Admission to Jamia Millia Islamia for BA and BA (Hons) is subject to either CUET (conducted by NTA) or JMI entrance exam. Till 2021, admission was subject to the JMI entrance exam across all specialisations. However, starting 2022, admission to a few BA (Hons) specialisations is CUET-based and for the rest, it is university-level entrance-based. Interested candidates can apply online for all courses on the official website of JMI or CUET.
After JEE session 2 is completed, only those candidates who are aiming for IITs need to start preparing for JEE Advanced after clearing JEE Main. Those who are above the 98th percentile should start preparing for JEE Advanced as soon as possible. Those below this, between the 95th and 98th percentile, should focus on attempting more mock tests and previous year question papers so that they have a better chance of clearing JEE Advanced

Jamia Millia Islamia admission to UG and PG courses is entrance exams based. The university accepts JMI entrance exam, CUET and JEE Main for admission. Further, to be eligible for admission, students also need to pass Class 12 with 50% for admission to UG courses and a graduation degree with 50-55% aggregate for admission to PG courses.
