The CAT 2020 website went live today followed by release of the official notification of India’s biggest MBA entrance exam. CAT 2020 is scheduled for November 29 registration for which will begin from August 5 from 10 AM. Aspirants who have been eagerly awaiting the CAT schedule can now plan and prepare for the exam accordingly. The CAT 2020 registration process will go on until September 16.

As per the official CAT notification, no change has been introduced in the exam pattern or eligibility criteria. CAT 2020 will be conducted by IIM Indore in over 156 cities across India on November 29 in two slots – morning and afternoon. Earlier, it was speculated that the IIM Indore will increase the number of test cities due to COVID 19 situation but the number of test cities is same as last year.

This year, the registration fee has been increased for both Reserved and Unreserved category students. 

  • For General category students, the fee has been increased from R s1,900 to 2,000.
  • For SC/ST/PwD category students, the fee has been increased from Rs 950 to Rs 1,000.

CAT 2020 Registration Process

CAT registration cum application submission is an online process to be completed on the official website of CAT. Candidates need to follow the steps given below to register for CAT 2020.

  • Open the official website of CAT 2020 (iimcat.ac.in)
  • Click on new candidate registration
  • Enter personal details to create a login
  • Enter name, date of birth, email ID, phone number and nationality
  • Click to generate OTP (one time password)
  • Verify your account by entering the OTP
  • You will receive CAT 2020 user ID and password in inbox
  • Log in again and fill in relevant details in the CAT form
  • Upload scanned copies of passport sized photo and signature
  • Review the CAT application form and click on submit
  • Make fee payment via debit/credit card or net banking

Key Points Related to CAT Application Form 2020

  • Candidates will need to mention four cities of their preference in the application form
  • Candidates will need to select IIM campuses of their choice in the CAT application form for WAT/PI shortlisting.
  • There is no additional charges for selecting IIM campuses in the CAT application form.
  • Form correction window will open after the registration process is over.
  • Candidate are advised to submit error free forms as during the form correction process only a few fields will be editable.
  • Candidates must make sure they receive the application submission and fee payment success status in email.
  • Incase the payment is unsuccessful, the candidates must reach out to CAT helpdesk
