The average salary offered to the students of top business schools has witnessed a hike of 7-15 per cent as compared to the last placement season.
The top business schools of India have seen a robust beginning to their final placement season. To this end, few Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) have announced that they have already placed all their outgoing students in jobs. This is excluding the final placement process at IIM-A, IIM-B, and IIM-C which will take place in February. Talking about the recruiters from different sectors, strategy & consulting, banking & financials, and IT firms have been the top ones.
The placements in IIM-Kozhikode and IIM-Lucknow were completed in only five days from the beginning of the process. Apart from this, many top private business schools such as Indian School of Business (ISB) in Hyderabad and Mohali, International Management Institute (IMI), Fore School of Management, and S P Jain Institute of Management & Research (SPJIMR) in Mumbai have either completed or are about to end their final placements.
The average salary offered to the students of top business schools has witnessed a hike of 7-15 per cent as compared to the last placement season. To this end, the average salary offered to the students of IIM-Kozhikode has increased from Rs 20.6 lakh per annum to Rs 23.08 lakh per annum, this season. The outgoing batch of 413 students was recruited by 131 companies. Similarly, a growth of 15 per cent has been witnessed at SPJIMR placement where the average salary offered to students was Rs 23.36 lakh per annum.
IIM Lucknow said its entire batch of 443 students was placed in over 100 firms with an average salary of ₹24.25 lakh per annum. At ISB, the average annual salary this year is ₹26.15 lakh per annum. Companies including Royal Bank of Scotland, Siemens Management Consulting and ZS Associates, Goldman Sachs, Microsoft, Nomura, Uber, GE Healthcare, Asian Paints, Bajaj Auto, Google, Accenture, Amazon, Cisco, Reliance Jio, Bain and Company, Boston Consulting Group, Dalberg, Deloitte India, E&Y, KPMG, McKinsey & Co, Flipkart, PWC India, and Avendus Capital were top recruiters at these campuses.
