Great Lakes 20th Convocation Ceremony: Great Lakes Institute of Management, Chennai, recently held its 20th convocation ceremony for its PGPM Class of 2023-2024 (Spirited Satavahanas), PGDM Class of 2022-2024 (Ahoms), PGXPM Class of 2022-2024 (Genesis), and PGPM (Flex) Class of 2021-2023 (Trailblazers) batches. The grand event took place at the Convention Center, Chennai Trade Center Complex, Nandambakkam.
Distinguished Guests and Award Ceremonies
The ceremony was graced by Arun Murugappan, Executive Chairman of Tube Investments of India, who served as the Chief Guest. Approximately 650 students from various programs graduated, and the event highlighted their achievements with the presentation of cash prizes and gold medals to outstanding students across the four graduating batches. The ceremony was presided over by Dr Suresh Ramanathan, Dean & Principal of Great Lakes Institute of Management.
Chief Guest Inspires with Wisdom
In his address, Chief Guest Arun Murugappan encouraged graduates to adopt the lessons learned from the game of golf, emphasizing patience, resilience, and the ability to embrace new beginnings. He highlighted the transformative potential of the coming decades for India and stressed the importance of sustainable and inclusive growth. “The journey ahead will be filled with challenges, but it will also be filled with opportunities to grow, to learn, and to achieve greatness,” Murugappan said.
Chairman’s Insights on Responsibility
Mohan Lakhamraju, Chairman of the Great Lakes Institute of Management, spoke on the importance of taking responsibility for one’s actions. “Taking responsibility for your actions and their outcomes is crucial. By owning your results, you empower yourself and acknowledge that you can change your situation,” Lakhamraju remarked. He shared that this mindset had guided his own decision-making process throughout his career.
Dean Reflects on Institutional Growth and Support
Dr Suresh Ramanathan, Dean of Great Lakes Institute of Management, delivered the academic report and reflected on the institution’s journey of growth. He praised the unwavering support of the students' families, stating, “You owe so much of your incredible, transformational journey to their unwavering support. They gave you the courage to reach new heights and overcome challenges.”
