MICA Ahmedabad PGDM Eligibility & Highlights 2026
MICA Ahmedabad offers an MBA equivalent PGP course, which is offered in two residential programmes, i.e., PGDM-C or PGDM. These courses are divided into three terms of 12 weeks each. Candidates can choose any one of the PGP courses, where the course is available across five specialisations at the institute. MICA Ahmedabad admission is entirely based on the scores obtained by candidates in either CAT/ XAT or GMAT entrance exams and other institute-level selection rounds. Yes, candidates seeking admission to PGP (PGDM/ PGDM-C) course at MICA must qualify for MICAT. Based on the MICAT scores along with the scores obtained in national-level entrance exams such as CAT, XAT and GMAT, the institute shortlists candidates for the next round. MICAT is conducted mainly to choose the right candidate for the course. It’s a complete Computer Based Test (CBT) conducted twice a year in two phases. MICAT registration for the academic year 2024-24 has started. Candidates can apply online on the official website.
MICA admissions are through a layered filtering process comprising of CAT/ XAT /GMAT performance followed by the performance in MICAT written exam and finally the GE and PI performance. The step 1 of MICA admissions is Psychometric test. This section is a qualifier. followed by the Step 2, which is for the candidates who qualify through Psychometric test, their relative performance on CAT /XAT/ GMAT is considered.
A minimum cutoff of the best of the three scores is considered of CAT /XAT total percentile or GMAT score. The next step is the MICAT exam followed by the GE and PI. However, CAT/ XAT/ GMAT percentile/ scores make up only the 20 per cent of the total weightage of the final composite score.
Candidates need to appear for any of the national level the exams, among CAT, XAT or GMAT to participate in the MICA PGDM selection process. Admissions to MICA PGDM is based on shortlists prepared considering the MICAT scores, national level exam scores, GE and PI scores. Candidates filling the MICAT application form have to enter the scores of national level exam. However, if they are yet to appear for the exams, they can add the exam scores later. MICA provides the facility to add exam scores at later stage of the registration process.

MICA Ahmedabad admission is completely entrance-based. In order to secure admission to the MICA Ahmedabad PGP course, applicants must qualify for all the selection parameters. Candidate must qualify for any one of the national-level entrance exam and then apply for MICAT. The step-wise details around the complete admission process for MICA admission for MBA is mentioned below:
Step 1: MICAT Application Process 2026
To apply for admission to MICA, candidates have to register and appear for MICAT. This exam is conducted in two phases. Candidates need to pay an application fee of INR 2,100. Check below the steps-wise application process to apply for PGP at MICA Ahmedabad:

Step 2: Selection Rounds
To get admission to the MBA course at MICA Ahmedabad, it is mandatory to qualify for either CAT/ XAT or GMAT. The qualifiers of the respective entrance exam will have to apply and appear for MICAT, which is an in-house entrance exam of the institute. This exam is conducted in two phases. In the final selection round, GE & PI rounds will be conducted for admission.
