Prof. Dwivedi has led institutional advancements at IIM Lucknow. He played a important role in achieving institute’s AACSB accreditation, driving faculty and infrastructure development.

Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Kashipur has appointed Prof. Neeraj Dwivedi as its new Director. Prof Dwivedi has more than 25 years of experience spanning academia, corporate sector, and executive leadership.

He will join IIM Kashipur from Indian Institute of Management Lucknow, where he served as Professor of Strategic Management and held several senior leadership roles, including Dean (Faculty & Programmes), Chairperson of Post-graduate Programmes, Admissions, Student Affairs & Placements, and Member of Board of Governors. His earlier associations included IIM Indore, IIM Kozhikode, and School of Management, Asian Institute of Technology, Thailand. Apart from this, Prof. Dwivedi also worked in industry for about Seven years before shifting to academics.

Prof. Dwivedi has been played important role in achieving AACSB accreditation for the institute, driving faculty and infrastructure development, and streamlining academic and admissions processes. He has also served as National Convener for CAT 2017, overseeing seamless conduct of one of India’s largest and most complex competitive examinations.

His leadership in field of executive education has seen him design and deliver programs for many top companies including NTPC, Indian Oil, ONGC, Samsung, McKinsey & Co., Tata Play, among others. He is known for his expertise in strategic management, mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, and leadership development,as he continues to receive outstanding feedback from executives and students alike.

Prof. Dwivedi has worked for management research and curriculum development, and has authored or co-authored many research papers and teaching cases. His academic excellence has been recognized through multiple accolades, including the Best Case Award at the Strategic Management Forum Convention at IIM Bangalore (2010), Overall Best Research Paper Award at IAMB Conference in San Antonio (2013), and Best Doctoral Student Paper Award at IAMB Rome (2014).

His elective course, Merger and Acquisitions, was twice voted as the Best Strategy Elective at IIM Lucknow, and one of his co-authored papers was declared Runner-up for Best Paper at INDAM Conference in Goa (2024).

An alumnus of IIM Lucknow, Prof. Dwivedi completed his Fellow Programme in Management (FPM) in Strategic Management. He also holds an M.Tech from IIT Kharagpur and a B.Tech from G.B. Pant University, Pantnagar.

Q:   How is the college life at IIM Kashipur?
A:

Completely student driven campus, from placements to functional work, from academic to non-academic activities there’s a student body for it.  Throughout the year, students are involved in a number of activities including organizing major events like annual Fest Agnitraya, Management Conference, or any other event. The students are exposed to a first hand experience in time management, working within teams, handling situations and maintaining good relations with the administration as members of these student organizations and Events Specific Teams.

The institute even has canteens, which are run by students solely for the purpose of supporting late night project proposals, in addition to the mess that serves four dishes a day and along with several restaurants. Kashipur is a peaceful, pleasant paradise in the mountains of Uttarakhand and you'll be able to see the Himalayas from your balcony room window at times of great weather.
