MAH CET 2021 result announcement may be delayed as Bombay HC stays result declaration of 35 aspirants till October 11.
In an order pronounced on Wednesday, the Bombay High Court has stayed the MAH CET 2021 result announcement of MBA/MMS courses of 35 aspirants till October 11.
A bench of Justices RD Dhanuka and Abhay Ahuja passed the order in a petition filed by candidates saying that the MBA CET was not conducted in accordance exam pattern mentioned in the brochure.
The MAH CET 2021 exam was conducted on September 16, 17 and 18 in morning and afternoon slots on each dates and the result was expected to be declared by September 28 but has not been announced yet. Consequently, it is expected that the MAH CET 2021 result for MBA/MMS of all candidates will be delayed. A couple of days ago, the news was doing the rounds that the result has been declared, however the State CET did not confirm the same.
The petition filed by the candidates states that the information brochure had categorically stipulated the topic/subject wise marking scheme, however it was not followed in the examination from one slot to another. The MAH CET MBA/MMS question paper is divided into four sections - Logical Reasoning, Abstract Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension. The questions are grouped into sections. However, in the MAH CET 2021 question paper the questions appeared jumbled, i.e. the questions from all the four sections were not listed in any particular order.

According to the petition, the petitioners sent an email to the State Common Entrance Test Cell (CET Cell) on September 23 requesting a re-exam after removing such discrepancies. The petitioners followed up on the status of their request on September 27 but got no response from examination body.
The petition states that some of them have sought the question paper and model answer sheets under the Right to Information act. Since there has been no response from the CET Cell and the RTI response is awaited, the petitioners approached the court seeking a stay.
The petition states that by not following the information provided in the brochure, the CET cell has violated the Unaided Private Professional Educational Institutions (Regulation of Admission and Fees) Act, 2015.
The court ordered a notice to the CET cell to be served to them in 48 hours from October 6. The matter will now come up for admission in the court on October 11, 2021.
