Things to Remember for MAT 2023 Exam Day
A day before the MAT exam, arrange for important documents, make an exam strategy and relax. Check things to do below:
- Download MAT admit card and take two printouts:The most important thing to do is to arrange the most important document, i.e. MAT PBT admit card, that will be needed for candidate identification at the exam centre. You must take out 2 colour printouts of your admit card in A4-size sheet.
- Arrange a Govt ID card: Candidates have to carry a valid ID proof issued by the Government of India along with the MAT admit card to the exam centre – Passport/PAN card/Aadhaar card/Voter ID/Driving Licence. Also carry a few copies for your passport size photo.
- Items to carry and not carry: Candidates will need a black/blue ball point pen for signing the attendance sheet, rough work and filling the OMR sheet. Candidates should carry two pens. Apart from that, carry a 50 ml bottle of hand sanitizer, face mask, gloves and personal drinking water.Do not carry an electronic items, metal items or valuables.
- Make an exam strategy: Solve the easy questions first so that you have enough time to focus on tough questions later Divide time among sections on your own as there is no sectional time limit in MAT. The Indian and Global Environment section is memory based and its scores are not taken into consideration for calculation of MAT percentile, so this section should be your last priority.
- Sectional Cut Offs: Make an exam strategy to target sectional cutoffs first. You should solve questions in such a way that you’ve made enough correct attempts in all four important sections.
Choose the Right Questions: MAT has negative marking it is very important to choose the right questions to attempt. Read every question carefully and understand what is being asked. If you think you don’t know the answer skip it. There is no negative marking in skipping questions. - Don’t Panic: MAT is all about speed and accuracy. But don’t let the pressure bog you down. Solve only as many questions as you can in the given time limit. Nobody can attempt all 200 questions in 2.5 hours, so don’t worry.
