The NMAT 2020 exam will be conducted in the second phase in a window of seven days, from February 2 to February 8, 2021. Candidates who did not utilise all three attempts of NMAT 2020 may register from January 18 onwards till January 31.

The Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC), the conducting body of NMAT has announced that a second phase of the exam will be conducted in February. The application process for the second phase NMAT 2020-21 will start from January 18 and will conclude on January 31. The exam will be conducted in a window of seven days, from February 2 to February 8. The second phase of NMAT is meant for those candidates who have not appeared for NMAT 2020 or have not taken the two retakes. As GMAC states, โ€œCandidates who have used all three attempts for the NMAT by GMAC exam for the testing year 1st July 2020 โ€“ 30th June 2021 cannot register for the additional window. This means the candidates who have taken the main attempt as well as the two re-takes, cannot avail this opportunity.โ€

According to the exam conducting authority, candidates who already have an account but could not register earlier, can use their existing account and complete the registration and need not create a new account.

Candidates will be allowed only one attempt within this window. The test centres and slots will be assigned on a first come first serve basis. The option to take the proctored exam from home will also be available. The NMAT exam pattern will remain the same. The application fee will be Rs 2,300 plus taxes.

Talking about the rationale behind conducting the second phase of NMAT, Gaurav Srivastava, Regional Director, South Asia, GMAC says, โ€œThis is to help candidates who might have missed taking the test earlier as well as schools that require more applications and have extended their applications deadline. I am also pleased to share that K.J. Somaiya Institute of Management is now an NMAT-accepting B-School for all their programs.โ€
