Further delay in NEET SS 2021 Counselling will impact patient care services: FORDA

The Federation of Resident Doctors Association (FORDA) has written to Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya to highlight the unprecedented delay in NEET SS 2021 Counselling.
Federation of Resident Doctors Association (FORDA) has once again written to Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya regarding the delay in conduction of National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Super Speciality Courses NEET SS 2021 Counselling and subsequent admissions.
FORDA tweet reads, "Requesting Honβble @mansukhmandviya Sir to take necessary measures for addressing the issue of unprecedented delay in conduction of #NEETSSCounselling2021 & subsequent #Admission of qualified candidates #MCC @MoHFW_INDIA @DghsIndia @NBEMS_INDIA @ANI @MirrorNow @IndiaAheadNews"
Last month also FAIMA (Federation of All India Medical Association) and FORDA had written to the Health Minister and urged him to expedite NEET SS 2021 Counselling.
FORDA's letter highlights
The letter pointed out that several qualified candidates are eagerly waiting for counselling to begin. Earlier, NEET SS 2021 exam was scheduled to be held in July 2021 and the academic session would have started in August 2021.
However, after many delays, the exam was finally held in January 2022. Though the results were out soon, the counselling process is yet to begin due to a pending case in the Supreme Court related to reservation for in-service candidates of Tamil Nadu, stated the letter.
FORDA's letter reads, "We would like to highlight the fact that admission for the current Academic Year is already delayed by 7 months and with further postponement of court hearing, there seems to be no respite for the candidates yet. During multiple waves of Covid-19 pandemic, similar to Broad Speciality candidates, the training of current batches of Super -Speciality candidates had also suffered & now due to non-admission of fresh batch, they are even over-worked & exhausted."
"Any further delay in NEET SS Counselling 2021 & subsequent admission of candidates will ultimately impact the delivery of quality patient care services," the letter added.
