The collaboration between MAHE and MedisimVR aims to bring immersive technologies with cutting-edge technology in VR for healthcare and medical education. 

MAHE Manipal News and Updates

Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with MedisimVR. The organisation, which deals in Virtual Reality (VR) solutions, will support MAHE for medical skills training.

The Memorandum of Understanding constitutes a significant step forward in incorporating fully immersive technologies into medical education. The MAHE-MedisimVR collaboration will conduct advanced VR research for healthcare and medical education, facilitate skill development, construct a VR skill lab on premises, and stimulate creativity through a variety of activities.

Dr. Sharat K. Rao, Pro Vice Chancellor of MAHE (Health Science), shared his delight with the collaboration with MedisimVR stating "MAHE’s commitment to technological innovation in medical education and outlined its vision for the future of VR integration in curriculum and skill development."

Further, Dr. Sambit Dash, faculty of Basic Medical Science (MAHE) emphasised VR's revolutionary potential for improving practical abilities and competency-based teaching. The formal signing of the MoU took place following the presentations, cementing a collaborative roadmap for research, development, and implementation of VR-based training modules in health sciences education.

The MoU is an important step toward using immersive technologies in medical education. In association with MedisimVR, MAHE aims to excel the advanced research in virtual reality (VR) for healthcare and training. Further, the institution aims to help students build practical skills by setting up a VR lab on campus. 

During the event, the Chief Operating Officer of MedisimVR shared a presentation of the company's overview and VR capabilities and solutions, focusing on alignment with evolving educational needs.
