NEET SS 2025 exam will be conducted in computer-based format for 150 minutes in two shifts at 43 exam cities across India. Check exam pattern, marking scheme, exam duration, sectional timing and number of sections.

NEET SS 2025: National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences will conduct the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Super Speciality Courses on December 26 and 27. The NEET SS 2025 will be conducted in computer-based mode at several exam centres across India. The exam, which is a national-level entrance exam for admission to advanced medical courses like DM (Doctorate of Medicine) and MCh (Master of Chirurgiae), will be conducted for 2 Hours and 30 minutes (150 minutes) at 43 exam cities. 

NBEMS has confirmed that the NEET SS 2025 exam will be based on the revised format introduced last year. This exam will have three time-bound sections to ensure fairness and the integrity of the examination process. 

NEET SS 2025 to have Time Bound Sections

NEET SS question paper 2025 will have time-bound sections for the three sections, i.e. sections A, B, and C of 50 minutes with 50 questions each. This means students will not be allowed to proceed to the next section till 50 minutes of the current section are completed. Also, they will not be allowed to review/ modify the questions of a section after 50 minutes of that particular section has concluded.

NEET SS 2025 Exam: Know Marking Scheme 

The marking scheme of the NEET SS exam is available on the official brochure. As per that, students will get 4 marks for each correct answer while one mark will be deducted for each incorrect response.

Q:   What is the exam pattern for the NEET SS?
A:

According to the existing pattern, NEET SS will comprise one paper of 150 multiple-choice questions, from broad speciality and super speciality course. There will be three sections carrying 50 questions each and a time duration of 50 minutes will be there. The total duration will be 150 minutes or 2.5 hours. The question paper will be of 600 marks. Total 150 Questions for 600 marks will be asked in the NEET SS question paper. Type of Questions: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). Marking Scheme: Aspirants will get +4 marks on each correct response and -1 on each negative response. NBE released the information brochure which has a detailed exam pattern for NEET SS exam.

Q:   Has there been a change in the NEET SS pattern?

According to a notification released by NBEMS, there was a time-bound sectional demarcation of questions for NEET SS. There are three sections carrying 50 minutes and 50 questions each. Unless a section is over, candidates cannot proceed to the next section. Once the next section begins, the questions of previous sections cannot be reviewed or changed. 

Q:   What is the marking scheme of the NEET SS exam?
A:

Each question of NEET SS carries four marks. For each wrong answer, one mark is deducted. No marks is deducted or awarded for questions left unanswered in the NEET SS exam.
