Marking Attendance During NEET 2024 Exam
Candidates have to sign twice on the NEET 2024 Attendance Sheet at the specified place, the first time immediately after the commencement of the examination and the second time while handing over the NEET 2024 Answer Sheet to the Invigilator. Is it allowed to take a break during NEET 2024 exam?
There will not be any breaks in the NEET 2024 exam. It would be a continuous process for 200 minutes. In case candidates need a bio-break, they must take permission from the invigilator and it would be granted based on the invigilator's discretion. NEET 2024 Exam Centre Instructions
Candidates need to follow the instructions given below at the NEET 2024 exam centre:
- Candidates have to report to the NEET exam centre at the 'reporting time' mentioned on the admit card.
- The last entry into the NEET 2024 exam centre hall will be at 1.30 pm.
- They should not carry prohibited items such as geometry/ pencil box, calculator, log table, slide ruler, any paper or textual material, bags, electronic items, mobile phones, etc.
- Test-takers are not allowed to carry any eatables inside the NEET exam centre. However, diabetic students are allowed to carry fruits/ sugar tablets.
- Candidates should leave the NEET test centre one by one and must wait for their turn to avoid crowding outside the centre
- Candidates are also advised to visit the NEET exam centre 2024 a day before the examination to avoid delays on the exam day and to get familiar with the location.

Usage of AI by NTA to Avoid Malpractices in NEET 2024
NTA will use Artificial Intelligence or AI in multiple ways to ensure fair conduct of NEET 2024, devoid of malpractices. Describing the same, NTA has stated:
a. NTA uses AI based real time analytical tools & technologies to map likely/potential use of unfair means /cheating behaviour by candidates at all centres, both during and post exams.
b. CCTV recordings are analyzed using AI technologies to confirm malpractice with evidence.
c. NTA catches the likely cheaters through Artificial Intelligence-based tools.
d. Suspicious candidates are identified through AI-based tools, even after the examination.
e. NEET 2024 examination centres are continuously monitored through artificial intelligence-enabled systems to ensure the integrity of the examination process.

Guidelines on Filling the NEET 2024 OMR Sheet
Candidates have to mark their responses on the OMR sheet of NEET. Candidates must, therefore, be careful while marking their answers on the NEET OMR sheet. It is often seen that students make silly mistakes while filling the bubbles on their OMR sheets. A few important pointers related to the OMR sheet of NEET are given below, these will help students mark their responses better.
- Blue or black ballpoint pens will be provided to the students at the NEET exam centres. Students are not allowed to carry a pen to the centre and have to mark their responses using the pen provided at the centre only.The correct way to mark the response is to fill the entire bubble. This will be considered a valid response.
- If a bubble is semi-filled, it will not be considered a valid response. Such responses will not be graded.
- The marking must be confined to the circle only. Smudging or overfilled circles will not be graded.

The total marks in the NEET exam is 720. Each question carries four marks and there is a negative marking of one mark for each wrong answer.

In case there are multiple answers marked for one answer, in the NEET answer booklet, there is a chance that the answer will not be considered for evaluation, even if one of the selected answers is correct. Hence, candidates are advised to be careful in marking the answers on the OMR sheet of NEET 2024.

The total number of questions in NEET is 200. Out of this, candidates will have to attempt 180 questions. While all 35 questions are mandatory in Section A of each subject, in Section B, 10 out of 15 questions have to be attempted.

Things Not to Do on the NEET 2024 Exam Day
Candidates must not indulge or engage in any of the following activities on the day of the exam:
- Do not sign on the admit card in the absence of the invigilators.
- Do not carry any barred items as specified on the admit card or in the NEET 2024 information bulletin.
- Do not get carried away by what others are doing.
- Do not engage in any conversation with the other students seated in the examination hall.
- Do not take any seat which is not assigned to the roll number.
- Do not waste your time on a question if you do not know the answer. Skip to the next question and come back to the difficult ones after you have completed all the other questions.
- Do not practice any unfair means.

Advisory Against Malpractice in NEET 2024
NTA has laid down the following rules for NEET 2024 test takers against malpractices during the exam. Candidates are prohibited to do the following:
a) Using someone to write the examination (impersonation) or preparing material for copying;
b) Breaching examination rules or any direction issued by NTA in connection with the conduct of the NEET (UG) - 2024 examination from time to time.
c) Assisting other candidates to engage in malpractices, giving or receiving assistance directly or indirectly of any kind or attempting to do so;
d) Writing questions or answers on any material other than the answer sheet given by the Centre Superintendent for writing answers.
e) Tearing of the Answer Sheet, any page of the test booklet, etc.
f) Contacting or communicating or trying to do so with any person, other than the Examination Staff, during the examination time in the Examination Centre.
g) Taking away the answer sheet (Original OMR/Office Copy of OMR) out of the examination hall/room.
h) Taking away the NEET 2024 Admit Card out of the examination hall/room.
i) Smuggling out of Question Paper or its part or smuggling out answer sheet or part thereof.
j) Threatening any of the officials connected with the conduct of the examination or threatening any of the candidates.
k) Using or attempting to use any other undesirable method or means in connection with the examination.
l) Manipulation and fabrication of online documents viz. admit card, rank letter, self-declaration, etc.
m) Forceful entry/exit in/from the Examination Centre/Hall.
n) Use or attempted use of any electronic device after entering the Examination Centre;
o) Affixing/uploading of wrong/morphed photographs on the application form/admit card/proforma.
p) Erasing or obliterating any information printed on the OMR Answer Sheet.
q) Providing incorrect information and/or overwriting of the Roll No./ Test Booklet No. / own Name of the Candidate / Father’s Name / Mother’s Name / own Signature, on the OMR Answer Sheet. - 9:56 PM IST• 4 May 2024
Crosscheck NEET 2024 Question Paper Medium and Test Booklet
After receiving the NEET 2024 question paper on the exam day, candidates are advised to confirm that the medium of the question paper is the same as what they had opted for. Moreover, they must check and ensure that the Test Booklet contains as many pages as are written on the top of the cover page. In case there is a mismatch, they must report it to the invigilators immediately and get the correct question paper and test booklet.

Intake of Food and Drinks Not Allowed Inside the NEET 2024 Exam Centre
Candidates will not be allowed to take tea, coffee, cold drinks or snacks, etc. inside the NEET 2024 exam centre or hall. Smoking inside or around the test centre will also be strictly prohibited.

NEET 2024 Exam Day Information - Centres to Provide Stationary Items
Apart from the permissible items such as the NEET 2024 admit card, photo identity card and photographs, etc. candidates will not be allowed to carry any other belongings, including the stationary items. Hence, the centre authorities will provide ballpoint pens to fill the OMR sheets. Candidates are advised to check the pen before starting the exam. In case the pen is dysfunctional, they should report it to the invigilators and request for its replacement.

Role of Scribe for NEET 2024 PwD/PwBD candidates
The Scribe will help the Candidate in reading the questions and/or mark the answers as per the directions of the Candidate. A Scribe will NEITHER explain the questions NOR suggest any solutions. NTA states, "If it is found at any stage that a candidate has availed the services of a Scribe and/or availed the compensatory time, but does not possess the extent of disability that warrants the use of a Scribe and/or grant of compensatory time, the candidate will be excluded from the process of evaluation, ranking, counselling, and admission. According to NTA, blank paper sheets for rough work will not be provided in the NEET 2024 exam. Rough work should be done in the space provided for this purpose in the NEET 2024 Test Booklet only. "Failure to do so may result in the non-evaluation of your answers," NTA said.

Guidelines Regarding Security Check of Female Candidates at the NEET 2024 Centres
The NTA believes in the sanctity and fairness of conducting the examination, however, it also believes in the sensitivity involved in frisking (girl) candidates and will issue comprehensive instructions accordingly to the staff and other officials at the Examination Centres. The frisking of the female candidates will be done inside a closed enclosure by female staff only.

Security Check Procedure at NEET 2024 Exam Centres
Candidates will be checked at the entry point of the NEET 2024 exam centre by security professionals. They will be frisked and checked with a handheld metal detector. In case any barred item is found, they will have to leave those before entering. They will be allowed entry after verifying their identity and candidature through the NEET 2024 admit card and photo identity card.

NEET 2024 Exam Day Guidelines
The following exam day guidelines will have to be followed by the NEET takers.
- The exam centre for NEET 2024 will open at 11:30 am. No candidate will be allowed to enter the examination hall before 11:30 am.
- The last entry into the examination hall will be at 1:30 pm. No candidate will be allowed to enter the examination hall past 1:30 pm.
- Candidate must carry the NEET 2024 admit card—duly signed by a parent/guardian and a postcard-sized photograph must be affixed on it—along with a valid photo ID proof and a passport-sized photograph on the exam day.
- He/she must produce the admit card of NEET 2024 on demand.
- It is mandatory to undergo security procedures, such as body scanners and frisking. Candidates are thus advised to cooperate with the security personnel present at the exam centre.
- Candidates who intend to use their own scribe must carry a ‘Letter of Undertaking’ to the exam centre.
- Candidates will not be allowed to leave the examination hall before 5:20 pm
- All those appearing for the examination must note that the attendance sheet has to be signed twice, the first time right after the examination begins and the second time while handing over the answer sheet. Any candidate who fails to sign twice will be considered absent.

Candidates are barred from carrying the following items at the exam centre.
- Stationery items such as test-based material (written/printed), papers, notes, Pencil box, pouches, geometry box, pen, scale/ruler, eraser, etc.
- Electronic devices such as calculators, cameras, electronic pens, scanners, etc.
- Accessories such as bags, belts, caps, goggles, wallets, etc.
- Devices used for communication such as mobile phones, smart watches, Bluetooth, fitness bands, earphones, pagers, etc.
- Any ornaments (both metallic/non-metallic) such as earrings, nose pins, piercings, etc.
- Eatables (packed or home-cooked), thermos, water bottles, etc.

NEET 2024 Advisory for PwD Candidates
NTA has laid down the following information for candidates belonging to the Persons with Disability (PwD) category candidates:
- For PwD candidates opting for Scribe service, NTA will provide the scribes and candidates will not be allowed to bring their own Scribe.
- PwD category candidates will be provided an additional duration of 1 hour and 5 minutes irrespective of opting for the Scribe facility.
- Candidates must bring a PwD Certificate issued by the Competent Authority if claiming relaxation under the PwD category.

NEET 2024 Dress Code Exceptions
Candidates who will not be able to follow the dress code for NEET 2024 due to religious beliefs have to mention the same while filling the application form for NEET 2024. Such candidates had to select the 'Customary Dress' option while filling the NEET application form 2024. Those opting to wear the customary dress have to report at least an hour early for proper frisking and security procedures. In such cases, candidates need to reach the exam centre by 12.30 pm so that there is sufficient time for proper security checks without any inconvenience to the candidate while maintaining the sanctity of the exam.

NEET 2024 Dress Code for Female Candidates
Female candidates have to follow the following guidelines regarding the NEET 2024 dress code on exam day:
- Similar to the dress code of NEET for male candidates, female candidates are also advised to wear half-sleeve t-shirts/shirts/kurta.
- Long sleeves and fancy-sleeved clothing is not permitted.
- Clothing should be simple and should not have elaborate embroidery, buttons, frills, etc.
- Metallic/non-metallic jewellery has to be avoided.
- Slippers, sandals or low heels are allowed but closed shoes are not allowed.

For male candidates appearing for NEET 2024, NTA has stated the following guidelines regarding dress code:
- According to the dress code of NEET for male aspirants, long or full-sleeve shirts/ t-shirts are not allowed

- Male aspirants can wear simple trousers/pants.
- Layers of clothing and kurta pyjamas should also be avoided.

Candidates must ensure to do the following before the NEET 2024 exam starts.
- Visit the NEET 2024 exam centre a day before the examination. This will save time on the day of the examination.
- Follow the NEET dress code on the day of the examination. Not following the dress code may lead to losing time.
- Try to reach the exam centre at least an hour before the exam starts. Reaching the exam centre late may cause chaos and confusion.
- Check the pen provided to you on the exam day before the exam starts.
- Keep an eye on the clock. You might end up spending more time on one section if you don’t keep track of time.
- Mark the answers in the OMR sheet carefully.
- Solve the questions that you are confident about first. Come back to those that you feel are difficult/time-consuming in the end.

Things to Avoid On the NEET 2024 Exam Day
Students shall check the below points and avoid them during NEET 2024 exam day:
Reaching late at the examination centre: Students are suggested to arrive at least 30 minutes before the exam centre opening time. Further, students are advised to visit the NEET 2024 exam centre a day before the exam, if time permits.
Not carrying admit card: Students must check twice whether or not their NEET 2024 admit card is with them or not. No candidates will be allowed to enter the examination hall without the NEET 2024 hall ticket.
Starting any new topic: Students shall focus on revising the existing topics instead of starting any new topic during the NEET 2024 exam day. Starting a new topic may lead to confusion during the exam.
Not following NEET 2024 dress code: Students must ensure they are dressed as per the guidelines issued by NTA. Further, they must ensure they do not carry any piece of paper or any other restricted item in the examination hall.
Not keeping an eye on the clock: Time management is the key to cracking NEET UG 2024. Hence, students must ensure they do not spend abundant time on a single question.

List of Documents to be Carried to NEET 2024 Centre
Candidates will have to carry the following documents to the NEET 2024 exam centre:
- NEET 2024 Admit Card along with passport-size photograph affixed on it;
- One passport-size photograph is to be affixed to the Attendance Sheet.
- Valid Original Identity proof, and PwBD certificate, if applicable.

Unlike the previous years, candidates are unable to download the NEET admit card in PDF format.
