NEET PG 2025 Two Shifts: Supreme Court Issues Notice to NMC, NBE; Hearing Next Week
The Supreme Court is expected to hear next week a plea filed by the United Doctors Front (UDF) challenging the decision to conduct NEET PG 2025 in two shifts. In the meantime, the SC has issued notices to the National Medical Commission (NMC) and the National Board of Examinations (NBE) seeking their response on the matter.
The Supreme Court has issued notices to the Union of India, the National Medical Commission (NMC), and the National Board of Examinations (NBE) pursuant to a petition challenging the holding of the National Eligibility-Entrance Test Postgraduate (NEET-PG) 2025 examination in two shifts. The United Doctors' Front (UDF) urged the Apex Court to interfere in the matter, where the federation mentioned that the forthcoming PG medical entrance test shall be conducted in a single shift to ensure transparency, consistency in difficulty levels, and equal evaluation criteria.
The group claims that this violates candidates' fundamental rights under Articles 14 and 21 of the Constitution, notably the right to equality and the right to a fair, merit-based chance, according to a petition filed by the association.
