The Supreme Court is expected to hear next week a plea filed by the United Doctors Front (UDF) challenging the decision to conduct NEET PG 2025 in two shifts. In the meantime, the SC has issued notices to the National Medical Commission (NMC) and the National Board of Examinations (NBE) seeking their response on the matter.

NEET PG 2025 SC Hearing

The Supreme Court has issued notices to the Union of India, the National Medical Commission (NMC), and the National Board of Examinations (NBE) pursuant to a petition challenging the holding of the National Eligibility-Entrance Test Postgraduate (NEET-PG) 2025 examination in two shifts. The United Doctors' Front (UDF) urged the Apex Court to interfere in the matter, where the federation mentioned that the forthcoming PG medical entrance test shall be conducted in a single shift to ensure transparency, consistency in difficulty levels, and equal evaluation criteria.

The group claims that this violates candidates' fundamental rights under Articles 14 and 21 of the Constitution, notably the right to equality and the right to a fair, merit-based chance, according to a petition filed by the association.

NEET PG 2025 SC Hearing Scheduled for Next Week

The bench of Justices B.R. Gavai and K.V. Viswanathan issued a notice to the authorities i.e.  National Medical Commission (NMC), and the National Board of Examinations (NBE), seeking responses from these authorities and scheduled the petition to be heard next week.

The doctors were especially worried on the normalisation process followed for NEET PG 2025 result calculation.  Despite the fact that the normalisation method was adopted for NEET PG 2024 to ensure justice by adjusting scores across different exam shifts, medicos claim that the method is inadequate.

NEET PG 2025 on June 15

The NEET PG 2025 Exam is scheduled to be conducted in two separate shifts on June 15, 2025. The United Doctors' Front (UDF) has filed a petition Under Article 32 of the Constitution, challenges the National Board of Examinations' (NBE) arbitrary and non-transparent decision to administer the upcoming NEET PG 2025 exam in two shifts with distinct question papers, employing a controversial normalisation process for result calculation.
