The NEET UG 2025 cutoff is expected to rise following the nationwide entrance exam conducted on May 4. The increase is attributed to a particularly challenging Physics section and unusually lengthy Chemistry and Biology papers, which tested students’ time management and persistence.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducted the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Undergraduates (NEET UG) on May 4, 2025 from 2 pm to 5 PM. Right after the examination concluded, students shared the examination analysis, highlighting the difficulty level of the physics section in the examination. Further, several students found the Chemistry and Biology sections as lengthy. As per media reports, several experts have said that NEET UG 2025 was the toughest exam since 2016. 

The examination was conducted across India on Sunday with over 20.8 lakh candidates attempting the question paper. As per the NEET UG 2025 exam analysis from students, the examination was lengthy and tough in comparison to the previous years. The five cities, which have been removed from the list are Surampelam (Andhra Pradesh), Deoghar (Madhya Pradesh), Basar (Arunachal Pradesh), Mamit (Mizoram) and Kiphrie (Nagaland).

Q:   Can I request to change my NEET exam city after receiving the NEET city slip?
A:

No, once the NEET city slip is issued by NTA, it is not permitted to request for change in the exam city. NTA tries to allot the NEET exam city based on candidates' first preference. However, there may be situations where it is not possible to allot the preferred city. Hence, candidates have to make the necessary travel or accommodation arrangements accordingly, instead of approaching NTA to change the exam city.
