Owing to the delay in the exit examinations of various institutes, NBE has postponed the NEET SS 2020. Revised schedule to be released soon.

The National Board of Examinations (NBE) has postponed the entrance test for super specialty courses. NEET SS 2020, originally scheduled to be held in the last week of June, will now be conducted in the last quarter of the year. NBE is yet to announce the revised dates for NEET SS 2020.

NEET SS 2020 eligibility criteria was defined by the Post Graduate Medical Education Regulations (PGMER). To be eligible for NEET SS 2020, the candidate must have completed the postgraduate medical degree course on or before July 15, 2020. However, owing to the current COVID-19 situation in India, many institutions have postponed their exit examinations. Considering this and the inability of the candidates to apply for the examination without completing their postgraduate degree, NBE has decided to postpone NEET SS 2020.

A revised schedule for NEET SS 2020 will be released after the dates for the exit examinations is finalised. NBE, however, states in the notification that NEET SS 2020 is unlikely to be held before August this year.

NEET SS 2020: About the examination

The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Super Specialty courses is conducted for admission to DM/MCh courses in India. NEET SS scores are also accepted for admission to DNB (Super Specialty) courses. The counselling for DNB courses will be conducted by NBE, whereas the admission process for DM/MCh courses will be carried out by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC). All institutions in India accept the scores on NEET SS for admission to the super specialty courses, the only exceptions are listed below:
