NEET 2024 Eligibility Criteria
The NEET 2024 eligibility criteria are stated below.
- Candidates should have passed or scheduled to appear for the Class 12 Board exam or equivalent with Chemistry, Physics, Biology/Biotechnology and English subjects
- Candidates belonging to the General category should have secured a minimum of 50 per cent aggregate and reserved category candidates should secure 45 per cent (General-PWD) and 40 per cent (SC, ST, OBC, Reserved PWD)
- Candidates must have attained the age of 17 years at the time of admission or will attain the same by December 31, 2024. Accordingly, the minimum date of birth of candidates should be December 31, 2007. There is no upper age limit.
- Indian nationals/ Overseas Citizens of India (OCIs) who wish to pursue MBBS/BDS from a foreign university also have to qualify for NEET 2024.

After completing the NEET 2024 registration process, or after the generation of the credentials, or the username and password, candidates will have to log in and complete the application process by entering the mandatory details, uploading the requisite documents and paying the application fee as per the candidate category. There is no upper limit in NEET. While NEET is conducted once a year and candidates can appear only once in one year, an aspirant can appear for the exam as many times as he/she wishes to. Given the fact that the upper age limit has been removed, there is no barrier to the highest number of attempts.

Has there been any change in the NEET 2024 exam?
As of now, there are two major changes introduced in NEET 2024. First, the NEET 2024 syllabus has changed. While some chapters have been removed, there have been addition of a few chapters and topics in all three subjects as well. Secondly, there have been a few changes in the NEET eligibility criteria as well. Candidates who have studied Biology/Biotechnology as additional subject will be eligible to appear for NEET. My session expired while filling the NEET application form. What to do?
If the NEET application form is left idle for 30 minutes after logging in, the session will expire. In case the session expires due to loss of internet connection, then the form will be saved till the last completed section. In case candidates were in the middle of a section and it was not saved, then they will have to restart it. Unless candidates fill the NEET form at the last moment, they should not worry about the session expiry. Hence, candidates are advised to fill the NEET 2024 application form well on time and not wait for the last moment to complete it.

Last year, NTA increased the NEET application fee by INR 100 for each category. In 2022, the NEET application fee was INR 1,600, which was increased from INR 1,400. Hence, there is a possibility that there will also be an increase in the NEET 2024 application fee.

There is no mandate about uploading the passport or postcard size photograph in colour or black and white format. How to Fill NEET 2024 Application Form
Here we bring the step-by-step process on how to fill the NEET 2023 application form.
- The first step is to visit the NEET 2024 website, www.neet.nta.nic.in
- Click on the 'NEET UG 2024 Registration' tab
- Read all the instructions and fill in the mandatory details such as personal and contact details, selection of password, security question and enter the security pin.
- Once the registration process is complete, NTA will send the NEET 2024 application number and password to the registered mobile number and email.
- The application form of NEET 2024 is divided into four stages, Personal Details, Identification Details, Exam Centre Details, Qualification Details, Additional and Emergency Contact Details, Document Upload and Fee Payment.
- The application fee has to be paid in online mode only through Credit/Debit Card, Net Banking or UPI methods.

Category Certificates Required for NEET 2024 Application Form
Candidates belonging to the reserved category or to a particular category will have to upload the requisite category certificate. The list of applicable certificates is given below:

GEN-EWS certificate which should have been issued on or after April 1, 2023, in consonance with the latest guidelines of the Government of India.

OBC-NCL certificate which should have been issued on or after April 1, 2023, in consonance with the latest guidelines of the Government of India.

Caste (for SC) or Tribe (for ST) certificate in consonance with the latest guidelines of the Government of India. If any SC/ST candidate fails to upload the SC/ST certificate at the time of online registration.
