
It must be noted that Mumbai University has many colleges affiliated with it, even when some have opted for autonomy. As per the reports, MU College is mostly looking for expanding the postgraduate domains, seeking at starting a new course and all those offered by the varsity.
Mumbai University Exams are being conducted by different MU colleges as per the rules and instructions released by the varsity. As per recent reports, more than 100 MU Colleges have reached out to the varsity officials with the hope to expand their respective institutes. The colleges have also submitted their proposals for increasing seats and courses in the Institutes.

As per the reports of TimesNow, MU colleges have also submitted requests to add more commerce courses or start them. Some have also opted to bring out some changes in their mass media programs, signaling that many Mumbai University colleges now want to bring changes in their academic curriculum.
Though Mumbai University colleges still don't have the NAAC accreditation yet, however, they have submitted their request for expansion along with applying for the NAAC applications. In such cases NAAC grades become important as some rules dictate that new programs can't be started till the Institute is NAAC verified.
The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) is a government organization in India that assesses and accredits Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). It is an autonomous body funded by the University Grants Commission and headquartered in Bangalore.
However, reports suggest that MU Colleges will now have to wait for a final nod from the state government as well.
